R53 new member from Kansas

Hello all,

I purchased a R53 back in March and am just getting around to joining in on the NAM fun. I'm lucky to be mentored by a couple of other local R53 owners who guided me through my purchase and honeymoon phase. I look forward to collaborating and learning from you all. Cheers and happy motoring!

Welcome to NAM.

There is an immense amount of information here on your Gen of car between the threads, the members and the vendors.

Welcome!

Where in Kansas? I'm in Wichita and am looking for Mini fans to get together with, maybe do some cars and coffee meets.

Down towards Winfield, but travel to Wichita often. What part of the state are you in? I've been thinking of the same sort of thing. Actually was looking at a couple of the flint hills scenic byway routes and thinking they look like a nice route to motor for a day trip.

East Wichita, but was actually in Winfield with my son at Southwestern two weeks ago.

PiperMac,
I have always like the BRG MCS and was lucky to own one. It is gone now, but it is an 05 MCS, which I sold to a Girl in Bend Oregon, that could not leave my shop without it! I do miss it, but I am glad she got it, as she is a real Mini enthusiast!

He was there for a week long 'camp' - still looking at colleges as he has two more years to decide. Right now I just get shoulder shrugs when I ask where he wants to go.

I would like to meet up for coffee and car talk - I'm burning some use it or lose it vacation days over the next month taking Fridays off.

Congrats on the BRG R53, nice to see they keep the Checkered roof. Most of them i have seen have been peeled off or faded.

If you'd be interested in motoring down to Winfield one Friday, I'll buy the coffee. I can sneak away long enough for a cup or two.

Thank you! I did the dicing myself. Always loved it on the non-sunroof tops.
