2009 r55 jcw
Yeahh I know it was not a good idea, I bought a 114K 2009 R55 JCW for like $7.5K.
It was in really decent condition overall, however I´m not that sure about the maintenance history.
So far I´ve changed the timing chain tensioner since the rails seem to be in good condition.
Resealed valve cover.
Cleaned manually the intake valves.
Changed plugs.
New battery.
Following: coils, plugs for passenger side PCV hose, catch can for driver side PCV.
Current problems, a light stumble mostly when cold (No CEL, no code), Airbag light since the module is shot. Carbon and water coming out of the catback when starting in the morning.
Any help is appreciated.
God bless all!

Welcome to NAM.
There is allot of information here on your model of car between the threads, the members and the vendors. If you have not already done so, may I suggest you check out the Gen2 Stock Problems/Issue folder. You may find some information on your issues.

Hi boca202,
Stumble at idle may need an electronic tune, to tweak the ECM.
You stated you cleaned the intake valves manually. Just wondering how you did this.
You may want to perform a leakdown test, to see if any valves are leaking, as stumble can be caused by poor sealing valves/seats.
On another note... 114K miles on a Mini is not a common problem, as they run well, for over 300K miles. I see them here in the Pacific Northwest, quite often.
I hope you get your stumble worked out!

Yea, I would try one of these options. Some people make their own and use the OEM tools or make their own tools. Once it's done you will get your power back and some MPG.

Also check the valve cover, it might have a sticky PCV valve which is consuming more oil which then coats the intake valves and needs to be blasted.
