My 2011 R57 is my second mini that I've owned. The first one was a 2010 Mini convertible non-S that I had for a month. Turned out to be a lemon and they took it back and gave me the 2011 R57. My only concern with this car is the the third light molding, the weatherstripping is all torn up and my trunk will have water in it when it rains. I finally found the replacement part but it's over $300.
Welcome, and congrats on the R57. or the 2011+ years in the Cooper it has the N16, what was wrong with your N12?
For the trunk moldings you can see here, there is a hardware kit also. MINI increased the price on these in December. Before that they were a much lower cost than the ones on the Gen 1 convertible.

I wouldn't worry My R52 has had a cracked seals in the same spot seal for awhile its a common problem and never understood why they crack so easy and the sides never cracked . believe me there is barley any rubber thats not crack accept for the sides which are in mint condition went through several downfalls of rains and hurricanes here in Tampa, and no leaks into the trunk . its unfortunate that no after market company has taken advantage of the crazy cost of replacing the molding with a non OEM part for half the cost SMH. but i would not worry you will see it before it would be to late if it had a major leaking problem. For my R52 its $442 which is ridiculous for a rubber seal and the housing.it is what it is look around local junkyards they have them at times . good luck Motor on and dont worry
The R52 ones are here for ~$373 for the kit and if you want the full kit w/ hardware its ~$400. And free shipping. We don't have any aftermarket option at this time. But if we get one in the future we will let you know. My R52 ones were cracked and once I replaced them, they were fine, I treated them with a UV protectant to extend their life. I have seen a bunch of R52 down south and it seems the more sunlight in the area the better chance they have of cracking.
