Hey guys just introducing myself, im Jake and im from Olympia Washington. My fiance has owned her Mini (r56) for about a year now and ive fallen in love with it.. been reading enough threads on here that i decided to make an account even though its for her Mini, for now that is.. she has a 09 sparkling silver automatic S with about 50,000. Unfortunetly its in the shop right now due to the "death rattle" :( getting it back monday though so will be able to get back into it. I drive a 02 wrx right now but im hoping by spring ill have a JCW. Anyways, let me know if theres anyone in my area, or if theres meets going on ! Thanks guys, cheers!

Welcome. If your MINI isn't at the dealer, you may want to contact MINI and see if your car qualified for the exteneded warranty on the timing chain as it can save you big.

 

Unfortuntely we didnt qualify, they were the first place i called. Thanks though man!

Yea, there was a campaign for the chain and tensioner to be checked.

Thank you ill have to look through that! We went through a private shop because we have a friend that works there so he gave us a a good deal. $1k and we got the timing chain replaced, new plugs, oil and air filter changed, she also had a problem with one of her door panels (handle with speaker was coming off when you pull) and they took care of that too
