Sweet Potato
Sweet Potato
Bought a 2005 MINI Convertible Non-S 5-Speed from friend and fellow forum member ThomB. It's orange with custom black stripes. My wife calls it her "Sweet Potato", which I like far better than Pumpkin.
ThomB bought a newer MINI Roadster.
I've never been much of a MINI fan from afar. In fact, I'm not much of a car guy to be honest, and spend more time with motorcycles. But now that we have the Sweet Potato, I have to admit that I've been converted. I absolutely love it, and so does my wife. I wouldn't mind having a hard top for myself.

Welcome to NAM, and congrats! MINIs are great little cars; I know plenty of motorcycle guys who've come to love the fun factor of a "street legal go-kart". The Ss ('05-'06 supercharged and '11+ turbos) are even more fun when you're ready for a MINI of your own
Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.
Welcome to NAM! Sweet potato, I like it! Motorcycles eh? I have a few in my garage as well. Hope you enjoy your new-to-you R52 and if you ever need anything be sure to let me know.

I made a post in the "Must Read About time Power steering pump failure!" thread recently here. Looks like my power steering pump is going out. I see that replacement pumps are pretty dang expensive, and I'm not even sure if this is a job that I can tackle myself. If anyone can point me toward some How-To DIY info, I'd appreciate it.

We have an article that can help you out HERE. While you're under there it's also a good idea to inspect your power steering pump fan to make sure it's in good working condition. It should kick on when your AC is on. If you want to see what we offer as far as a pump replacement, shoot me a PM with the last 7 digits of your vin. There was also a recall notice sent out back in October of last year so it might not be a bad idea to give your dealer a shout and see if your MINI qualifies.
