New Hot Chocolate Metallic Owner in PA

Hi Everyone, just stopping in to say hello.

I'd been casually browsing for a new daily driver the past month with some basic criteria. No older than 2006, less than 100k miles, and no more than $12k to buy.

The 2011+ R56 looked to be dipping into this area along with several other options but after renting an R53 in Colorado via Turo earlier this year I was smitten.

My car popped up on Autotrader and NAM a month before I called but after several price drops I took the bait and very quickly found myself on a flight to Ft. Lauderdale, FL Luckily the car was exactly as described and was a perfect companion for the long drive back to PA.

So here it is, a one owner dealer maintained 2011 Hot Chocolate Metallic (HCM?) R56 with 61,800 miles (post drive home). Already have a JB and Catted downpipe on the way

It will be sharing the garage with my forever project 83 GTI

Just over 65,000 miles now and happier than ever. Over the past few months Otto (named by the original owner) has received a few modifications.

Knock on wood no real issues have surfaced yet other than a front sun shade that has become unglued on one side and the battery access door tabs are broken.

Almost immediately after buying the car my girlfriend and I took it to the Adirondacks on a camping trip and got quite a few looks with the kayaks on the roof.

Added a K&N intake (mostly for noise) and a JB+

Then it was on to Bilstein coilovers and rear lower control arms, CNT catted downpipe, and JCW axle-back.

Also added a set of black JCW Challenge wheels.

I can understand why you got a few looks, the kayak is longer than the car.
