Hello everybody!! First time mini owner here. Have an hot chocolate metallic 2011 MCS nicknamed "Truffle" with little over 33k miles on it. I have to say, after owning the car for a little over a month now, i'm in love with it! She's my baby. Can't find a single thing I don't like about her haha. The lady at the car lot that sold me the car actually give it that nickname and for some reason, that nickname just kind of stuck with me and it fits the car perfectly!
She came equipped with the JCW tuning kit already so that was a score!! She also has the JCW exhaust as well. Few mods that I've done so far have been 2nd cat delete as well as the resonator delete, quiet pleased with how she sounds now. I do plan on lowering her next, and later on when the run flats run out, replacing those with non run flats.
Well, I'm glad to be part of the mini community and part of these wonderful forums. Everyone is so helpful and very welcoming! Will keep you guys and gals updated with my work on Truffle!
Few pics of Truffle!!
First day being home
Was a gorgeous day out, so took a quick pic. I know, she's dirty...
Haha. Well I have a question that you might be able to answer for me. I'm planning on lowering my mini and i'm going to go with H&R springs. Is installing them going to be easy and would I have to get new shocks as well or can I just use my old ones?
With 33k , you will be fine. Only thing i would check or change is maybe the spring perch rubber upper and lower on each strut. Its little bit involved you have to get the front struts out, the rears are easier, compress the old spring , then compress the new on and seat it properly. perch rubbers are linked also.
H&R 50452
Took advantage of the beautiful day out and cruised around town for awhile. Managed to get a few good pictures of Truffle. I have a short video that still needs some editing of the exhaust I have on her. It's not the best quality since I used my phone to record it lol but I figured i'll post it anyways. If I get around to it today, might upload it. If not, i'll try to get it up within a few days. Also purchased a tow hook for the rear that should be here in a few days. Will try to get a picture of it once installed. Anyways, hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
Got it off ebay. It's called neo chrome. And yes, it has clear protection on the rear bumper as well as on the front like a clear coat bra. It also seems to have some sort of clear protection around the edge of the doors too.
Stumbled upon a small mini group that was out for a drive around the lake yesterday. Decided i'd try to sneak in and tag along with them. They quickly realized I was trailing them (I blame my loud exhaust for them noticing me ) They were cool enough to let me tag along with them though and even join their mini group!! What a fantastic day!! Few pics
Has been awhile since I've posted any updates. Been super busy lately but still found some time to do some work on the mini. What's been done since last time I've posted is I have replaced the stock antenna with a stubby neo chrome one. Have a upgraded BOV spring that still needs put in. Will eventally do that when I do the boost tube upgrade. I've done a stud conversion kit from the 14mm to 12mm. Biggest upgrade I did was get new wheels which are 17x7 Enkei EV5. That's pretty much all that has been done that I can think of off the top of my head.
Got a couple plans for next year. I want to do the hot side turbo boost tube upgrade and a downpipe upgrade as well. Looking to go with MarioKarts downpipe as many on you on this forum have suggested it. Want to do lowering springs as well.
Overall, still loving the car. Hands down one of the best decisions I've made. I'll do my best to post more often. Hope you all have a nice day.
Glad you still like it, it's an addiction. Nice Enkeis, one of the few wheels you can have a lip on without poking or having something custom with fender flares.
