Just wanted to introduce myself. Just bought my first Mini. Always loved them. Hope to gain a lot of knowledge from the site (it came highly recommended). Here's a few pictures of my new to me 2013 MCS.

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm keeping the mods cosmetic for now. I do have new jcw manifold and was thinking about putting it on, but I'm the type that once I have something apart I might as well go all out. Gotta save and do my research.
Love the grey trim! I plan on doing the same, in black, on my newly acquired and first MINI as well. What method did you use? Did you replace with aftermarket or did you go the plasti-dip method?

The gray trim I acquired from someone local that still had extra parts laying around after they lost their mini in super storm sandy. The gray is base coat clear coat and it is a mini color. I'm not a fan of plasti-dip. I have a small hydrographics shop so I'll be dipping some mini parts soon.

Yea, looks to be painted dark gray, very nice.
Like the gray on the black, a nice touch, congrats on the new MINI !

I hear ya. I am battling that decision myself. I like the ease and cost of the Plasti-Dip and know I can make it look good and like the matte black. Then again, I do like the lack of maintenance needed with the actual trim. Only problem is, I can only find the trim in gloss black or grey matte. Don't really want the gloss as the trim above the wheels is matte and I think it might look tacky to have it gloss and I don't think they grey would look good either.
Plasti-Dip is pretty easy to work with so I may just give it a shot to see what it looks like - best thing about it is that is it pretty easy to remove. I do admit it feels a little "cheap" though, it that makes any sense.

Don't get me wrong, I use plasti dip.. I just don't want to but it on my MCS. You can take the regular chrome trim to a paint shop and they can paint it any color you want.. Even a matte clear coat.. Won't be expensive and you'll get exactly what you want.
