New to the Mini thing - 2005 S

I've been looking for a fun car to use as a commuter. The Mini Cooper S seemed to fit the bill and after my wife test drove one she was hooked.

Searched all over and found a low mileage, clean one owner hyper blue with lapis interior. At first we didn't like the blue/grey interior, but it's growing on us.

So far the car has been a blast. Will start hitting some of the maintenance issues and it needs to go into the dealer for an airbag light recall.

This forum has been a wealth of information!

Very nice. Congrats! Is it 6MT or auto? Any plans for mods or other work?

Welcome to NAM and congratulations! How many miles are on the R53? Looks to be in good condition. The webspoke wheels look great with the chrome mirror caps.

Thanks! It's the 6MT. I've always preferred manuals to automatics in small cars; even with traffic it is just more natural to me. Nothing really planned mod wise. As things wear out if I can replace them with upgrades I will, such as bushings etc.

Thanks, car has 64k miles on it now. I looked at a ton of R53s and this one is one of the cleaner ones. I really like the wheels, but they're rashed up a bit and it looks like these split wheels are a bit more difficult to refresh.

Good find! Those are some low miles. Have you tried to contact a wheel refurbishing place near you? I've gone this route many times before for powdercoating/refinishing really beaten up wheels. Also, check out Grip Grip's rebuild thread HERE. He refinished his beautifully on his own. See if he can give you some input if you want to tackle the job yourself.
