Hello. I hope to become the owner of a 2012 Countryman S, tomorrow. I decided that since I had never driven one before I had better take one for an extended test drive. I picked up the gorgeous Mini in the attached pic yesterday and have to return it tomorrow. If I can reach an agreement on price and an extended warranty, I will drive home with it. Otherwise, I'll have to stick with Mimosa, the Mazda3 that grabbed me ten years ago for a while longer.
I am amazed how similar the ride is. And surprised to discover more headroom in the Countryman
Then there are the Mini quirks. I am sure I will get used to them. but I confe
ss I am not crazy about that rail, especially between the rear seats because I usually have a baby seat in back and still have to squeeze a couple of people in there from time to time. And I wish it had heated seats.
All that said, after driving in drizzle and rain on country and city roads for several hours yesterday and I really find it comfortable, and of course, nimble. After driving in rush hour traffic today, an hour in each direction, I am quite pleased.
