a-pillar trims and seals???

Hey guys, my front wipers stopped working and the mechanic had to replace the motor that runs them. To do this, he says he had to remove the piece of body trim that is in front of the windshield. As he removed the panel, the pieces of trim in the panel and seals broke. He says he replaced these "at cost", but I see no new trim anywhere. The one plastic grill that was broken is still broken...

On the bill it says..."replaced both a-pillar trims and seals."

$700 for this sounds a little high to me...

Am I missing something here? Is it underneath the panel or something? Has anybody ever heard of the "a-pillar"?

Sounds like #4 is what he's talking about in terms of the trim. I recently replaced my passenger side trim piece, cost me $35. I guess he could be talking about #20 in terms of the seals, but I didn't actually use that when I replaced mine. That's just there for extra grip security as far as I know.

Hello! Can you post pictures of what you're talking about by chance? Is it the panel that the grilles are a part of? The driver side grille part number is 51137122505 here and the passenger side one is 51137122506 here. Fairly inexpensive ($17 each) and easy to replace. Is that all that is still broken? The A pillar is #4 above.

Sounds crazy high as the A pillar trim is not anywhere near that expensive

Go back to the shop and raise hell. $700 is ridiculous. I did mine for $35 and 5 minutes.
