Week 30 Support Group
Week 30 Support Group
After first being told I was week 28, I now find I'm week 30. This is my first MINI so I'm very excited! Is it strange to buy a new car after only having driven it two times?
Hi Wearlaz! Congratulations on your order. What color & type of mini did you order? Mine is chili red clubman and mine is at the port already to go on a ship but hasn't hit one yet that I can tell. It's a long wait! Hang in there because it does drive you crazy to wait so long! I've never ordered a car before and had to wait so long! Good Luck and keep tuned in on this website - they have all kinds of links to track your mini and such. Very helpful. Plus it's a lot of support from other mini owners!
Thanks alot for your post! I ordered a Sparkling Silver Clubman S. I've been lurking on this forum for a month or so before making the decision to buy a MINI and people here are very helpful for sure! I think the longest part of the wait will be the boat trip to the US but I'm hoping it will pass quickly.
I live in Phoenix AZ, but ordered my car from a NY dealer (in order to get it months earlier - LONG delivery times here in AZ) So I have to decide if I'm going to have it shipped here to AZ or fly out and drive it back? Decisions, Decisions...

Hey guys! I wasn't really sure how to tell which "week support group" to join, so I called ASK-MINI. The guy on the phone told me that the week is determined by when the parts come together on the vehicle. If this is accurate, then it looks like I'm in the week 30 group!
I'm not sure why but I was pushed back from Week 29 to Week 30. Probably because I was calling 866 askmini too much.

What am I supposed to say when I call? What all should I be asking?
So I called ASK mini yesterday and the guy says its done and sitting at port for Export. Im like WHAT? Cool beans, I was so happy that I hung up without asking for my VIN. I call back and they tell me no your in week 31 now.
DAMNIT ASK MINI, DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update on week 30 production
I just called ask-MINI again and so far, knock on wood, I'm still in week 30. She did indicate that I'm now in status "Scheduled for daily production pack". She explained that they're taking inventory of all the individual parts for my car to make sure it's all there before it goes into production. I'm guessing that if something is missing or wrong, that could change my production date. Where's that "fingers crossed" emoticon?
What's really interesting about this last person I spoke with - while all others have been REALLY nice, this person started asking about my specific MINI and how she's been wanting one forever. Was a really nice conversation. She also stated that they have been SWAMPED with new orders, hence the push back on some of the production.

Me Too
I too have a Mini on order that is schedule for week 30. I have been logging into the Mini Owners' Lounge web site often, and every time I check it says the status of my Mini is on order. Is that normal? Should it say scheduled for production, or will it not say that until the production week actually arrives?
I think I'm in the right week
Greetings,
I ordered MCS 'vert British Racing Green with the Sidewalk package.
866-ask-mini tells me estimated completion date is July 22. It was July 24 - sooner is better.
The VIN isn't showing on the shipping line tracking site yet so its hurry up and wait....

the owners lounge?
Quite frankly I’ve found the OL pretty useless (other than being able to get the VIN) for production status.
If you call 866-ask-mini and go through the automated menu, using the production order number you should have received from your dealer, you should get better info.
The OL just says “scheduled for production”; ask-mini tells me my vehicle is in production and the estimated completion date is July 22. That’s just four days away!!!

Yep - I've called Ask-MINI as well, still no production date. Could be that I'm a Clubman. I know of people with Clubmans on order that have slipped several weeks - maybe there's a part or option they're waiting on?
Thanks for the reply!

could be
I had a fight getting exactly what I wanted. MA said plant is gearing up for new model year production and that is causing issues as they try to get 2008 orders completed. I could not order the Sidewalk package, the factory rep (I don't give up so easy) said they were out of the Sidewalk parts at the factory. My MA finally found a British Racing Green vert with sidewalk package already in production for another dealer in Oregon and had it redirected to me in NC. Otherwise I would have had to wait until Feb. to order.
I've never had such a hard time trying to give people my money. Are you waiting on a 2008 or 2009 model year Clubman? If it's a 2009 it could be the model year change hosing things up at the plant.
And now back to dreaming of British Racing Green and English Malt Brown Leather.....

I was originally told 2008. I talked to my MA today and he's indicated that the plant is closed for August and I'm still "scheduled" for next week. However, there's still no production date. I should know one way or the other by July 20th.
