We own a 2004 Mini Hatchback and as we are preparing to give it to our daughter, we got this 2011 Mini S 43kmiles last week -which my wife will drive most of the time, I have a 1999 Mercedes Benz C43 AMG. In comparison this Mini feels like a true go-cart.

It's an automatic with DS and paddles features. I'm happy to give it a new life, it's a salvage title and being that I've been repairing and restoring cars a bit, it was all great news to me and my pocket books.

Now on to driving it!

and need to prep my 2004 for my daughter (CVT still working after 11 years, but it's stuck on SD and have a quirky problem which I shall explain in a different thread)

I was curious about those C Series AMGs--I've never driven one or even gotten a ride in one. Did any of them come with a manual transmission? Oh, and welcome!

Noooo, no manual transmission, but when we do the E55 AMG engine swap, we can get a sequential shifter if we buy the engine with the transmission attached. The C55 AMG was a dealer option so some owners will do that to the more tired engines.

I lgrew up riding in my uncle's early 60's Mini. Love the Mini too of course.

I'm looking for a roof rack for the R50, my daughter is going to need a cargo box too. any suggestions? I'm cracking my cranium online trying to figure out how to buy the right thing (used)...

 

Welcome.

The factory roof rack in full install kit is NLA , but if someone installed the mounts and the caps are there on the roof ( just missing the rack side ) then you have the option. Otherwise there is another style rack.
