Welcome and congrats on your murdered MINI. First things first: do early and often oil changes. No more than 5K miles before you do an oil and filter. Always. As far as tuning: I'm assuming that you have the N14 engine, so you can do well with a custom tune like one from RMW. That and an intercooler like our upcoming redesign will make a significant power increase. I've not seen much performance benefit from intakes. Downpipes can make power, but there are compromises (with emissions issues). Then focus on what MINIs are good for: handling, cornering and braking.

yes to N14 engine, and oil changes, from what I've read about this engine and carbon build up oil changes and premium gas are definite's, I was looking into down pipes and free flowing exhaust too, we have emission testing but I'm okay with swapping exhaust in and out once a yr, I will be looking into the intercooler upgrade and RMW tune options thanks.....and I plan on swapping the chrome out for black to completely murder it out.

Helix any idea on how long your intercoolers are on back order, and can you send me more info on RMW?

We have prototypes in house right now for testing and fitment. We have moved the mounting tabs slightly, and expect 5 more prototypes in the next couple of weeks, followed by production.

Shoot me a PM and I'll put you in touch with RMW.

Eliminate exhaust backpressure; make intake air colder / denser; tune fueling and timing to match mods previously mentioned. That is turbo tuning.

Granted, I really dumbed it down a bit. But for the average Joe driver, that's the important stuff.

The Magnaflow is loud for the R53 Cooper (supercharged). It was actually perfect (for me) until I added a catless header. Have fun!
