hello all...

Hello my name is Aaron and I'm a car-a-holic. Ha ha ha but anyway… Im new to the new-mini scene but not new to cars. Im currently in the Army and stationed in San Antonio TX. However, I started life out as a kid who loved cars and had both a father and stepfather who were both very much into cars and restorations of said cars.
I spent my formative years in the south east between the Carolinas both north and south. During those years I worked in a Ford body shop as a tech, in the racing industry as a fabricator, and eventually became part owner of A&J's Southern Rod Shop with my stepfather John. I've had vehicles ranging from 28-33 ford cars and trucks, muscle cars of all kinds, and VW's. I have long been a fan of H2O dubs since I was about twelve. In fact I had a 240hp Beetle Turbo S I got rid of to buy my mini.
A few years back John ,my stepfather, became very ill and needed heart surgery so we sold most of our projects and the shop we worked out of to help pay for his operation. In the end I found myself out of work, getting divorced by my wife of thirteen years, and frankly just in need of a change in life hence the reason I joined the army at the ripe old age of 32. Today I'm a medic in the Army and I enjoy it immensely but am still very passionate about cars. My stepfather is alive and kicking and still building hot rods in his garage with friends and loving every minute of it.
As for my ride it's a 2009 Pepper white Cooper S with matching roof and mirrors that was totally optioned out with only 35k on the clock. I'm loving it so far but I've got this black/blue interior that just isn't jiving with me. Ill probably sell it or trade out if i can. If your interested let me know i'll even do the work if ya wanna swap. I'll post that in classifieds though. If y'all need anything or need help feel free to ask I'm always down to wrench on cars or bench race. Cheers

First off, Thank you for your service!! Sounds like a great car, post some photos. Hopefully they still have the DIY car shops on base like they used to.

Hey folks thanks for the warm welcome.
SODA66 the warthog is my favorite plane what a beast of a machine. I saw these a lot as a kid my dad was 23 years AF civil engineering.
JABowders, what was your MOS?
Ill try to get some pics on here but frankly i stink at computers more of a hands on guy. When i purchased the car it had these weird bmw m stripes all over it. Frankly it put me off the car slightly but i couldn't resist the fact that it had a JCW areo kit on it so i bought it and had all the stickers taken off.
