Mini just arrived! Now I'm really part of the club

Hi all! So my 1st Mini arrived yesterday afternoon. 2010 MCS MT. Black w/ white roof and black rims. I'm already in love. Although it does take some getting used to considering I've been driving a 1969 VW Karmann Ghia for the last 15 years. Unfortunately I only just discovered that it doesn't have the factory alarm installed, just the heartbeat light on top of the tach that doesn't ever come on. Does anybody in the Portland, OR area know anyone that can access the computer to turn on the blinking function even though there is no alarm installed? I hear this is possible.

Thanks! Hmm. I thought I added pics to my gallery. I can't seem to figure out how to put them in my message. Let me try again.

ncsexpert is the program/process to get into the coding on the MINI. Check out some of these posts and see if anyone is from our area.

Welcome to the MINI crowd. There are quite a few of us in the this neck of the woods.

Great looking MINI, but why does it say "Charlotte NC" on the plate?

Applied Roof Stripes Last Night

So I applied the roof stripes last night. Came out pretty good. Wasn't too difficult. Pried up the windshield rubber and tucked front edge of each stripe underneath. Figured it would help prevent wind from plucking at the edge. Sadly, I thought I had 5in stripes on hood but it turns out they are 6in. Oh well, most people won't notice.

Nice job with those stripes. Do they go down the boot too?

Nothing on the boot yet. I can do a nice mostly flat roof but that boot is all dips and ridges. I'll get a pro to do it. Someday. Going to get the windows tinted Thursday. Did you know that starting the first of the year it will no longer be a no no to get limo tinting on all rear windows, even sides? I'm going to jump the gun a little and get it done now. Will post pics Friday.

Looks good, nice job on the dual stripes or "viper stripes ". I would continue down the boot to complete the look, but whatever you decide. Good luck.

Really like the R98 Web spokes in black , look good with the black paint.

Congrats and enjoy your new MINI.

I'll get a pro to do the boot. I'm too intimidated by the bumps and dips. Thanks for letting me know the type of rims the mini is sporting. Was a big selling point for me.

Installed MINI Projector light & Blue LEDs in footwells

So last night I did a little more customization. I installed a MINI emblem projection LED in the bottom of the door. Projects the MINI emblem on the ground when you open your door. Also installed a pair of BLUE LEDs in the foot wells. Wired them to the running lights. If you want to know how just ask. Enjoy the pics. I will take another of the door projection at night and post it too.

MINI Emblem Door Lock Pulls

Almost forgot, I also replaced the crap plastic door lock pulls with these nice chrome metal ones topped off with the MINI emblem.

Nice touches. You have really made your MINI a "one if a kind" already.

Love that mini projector light. Just can't stomach drilling a big hole in the bottom of my door.

2 holes actually, one to better reach the wires and another to install light. But they are only 3/4 of an inch and they make black plastic plugs to fill the holes. I mean who is ever even going to notice?
