First time MINI owner

I must say that I was hooked within the first two minutes of the test drive. I sold my old Carrera and bought the MINI. I absolutely love it. Look forward to reading the thread and starting this journey.

How are you enjoying the switch? Big change from mid engine RWD to forward engine FWD. The cars both run a similar stance though, with wheels pushed pretty close to the edges of the car.

Also: car specs! What kind of Mini sways someone away from Porsche?

I have a long commute and needed something with great mpg. Couldn't do the Prius. Just couldn't. I wanted something with style and performance. MINI was my ONLY choice. I've long admired from afar. It was time. The Porsche was tired with problems stacking up. Had to go. I bought the base model hardtop in Pepper White. Like I said. I was looking for mpg and resuction in my monthly spend. This was the perfect choice for me. Although I've sworn not mod it I spend most of my available time looking for mods. Can't leave well enough alone I guess. Pics after work today. Promise. ;-).

Welcome to NAM howzuh and congrats on your new MINI. I'm glad that you seem to be enjoying motoring in your new MINI. My advise to you is, take a few minutes to post a pic or two, otherwise...

My first drive ever in a modern Mini was two minutes long, and two and half hours later after haggling at the used car dealer I drove it again for the second time as the owner. Two minutes test drive was all it took, with 42k miles on a 5 year old Justa that obviously had been well taken care of.

Enjoy your commute, I know my Cooper makes my day every day.

Next up. May install the mud flaps this weekend if I can locate some instructions. I'm sure there is a post on here. Wrapping my side mirror caps in metallic emerald green glossy. That should be an interesting project. Didn't want to go with the standard off the shelf colors or designs. Not that there is anything wring with that.

Next will either buy clear side lights or black these ones out. Haven't decided yet. Fender side markers as well. Those will get blacked out for sure.

JCW Strut brace is on it's way as well.

I think this should be it for now. Yah right!!!!
