New owner Southern Indiana
Welcome to the world of MINIacs! I rode through southern IN on my way back from a trip to Kentucky a few weeks ago, so I know you have some great roads to drive on down near the Ohio River. Best wishes with your new MINI!
Thanks for the welcome! I'll be honest, my interest in MINI's started with the movie "The Italian Job". I fell in love with the looks of them, but at 6'3", I figured that I'd never fit...plus, it didn't work with a family at the time. We had a family get together earlier this year and my cousin showed up in one. He caught me checking it out and threw me the keys...not only did I fit, but I fit well. So I started looking...there are no MINI dealers around under an hour and a half drive away. And I wanted a red one, sun roof, manual trans. So, several months later, I bought the very 1st one I test drove in Indy. The dealership sat across from a MINI dealer so they were having a hard time selling it...yay for me!
It's been raining pretty much everyday this last week, so I haven't been able to get many good pics. I was able to get a good hour to put on the black union jack mirror caps, but that's all I've been able to do.
Yes, there are a lot of fun, winding roads around here. I fell that I've been riding my MINI pretty hard, but after owning it a week, I just now hit the half tank mark. Before getting this, I was driving my Dodge ram every day...the difference in gas is amazing! At half a tank, I've already drove more miles than I could on a full tank with my truck. So the truck is now being used for truck stuff and my Red Bird is my daily ride.
It's always good to meet fellow hoosiers!

Here's both of my vehicles...yes, I like red. The truck is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 - coga pa system, Dual in-dash dvd, Infinity 6" speakers in the door and 3" in dash running off Pioneer 400 watt amp. The truck just rolled 191,000 miles on the original engine (fingers crossed). I'm hoping with 2 vehicles that additions/upgrades to each will go faster since I don't have to wait for the weekend.

it's a loooong story. I started looking for a mini back in June. Found this car at...Tom Wood VW. Test drove it the day after they posted it. For what ever reason (I never did get clear answer) they shipped it off to auction. Once story I got was that they had to many mini between all their dealerships and being right around the corner from a Mini dealer, they just decided to reduce. So the months went by and considering that Mini's aren't big around here I always had a couple hours of driving to go and see one. Seemed like every time I got close to picking one, something happened. One day, I saw another one pop up, ran the VIN through Autocheck and realized it was the 1st one I looked at. Since it had been sent to auction, it made me leary. A place called Indy Wholesale Direct had it listed. I called and exlained that I had drove the car before, but the whole auction thing didn't sit right. I was told that they did have some work done to it and scheduled maintenance. I call Mini of Indy and they verified that they did said work and it passed inspection with flying colors (they did tell me that I would prob need new brake pads in the next 6 months). So end of the day, I bought the first Mini I test drove and have been lovin' it!
