Hello,

New to the forum. Been lurking since January when I was sort of shopping for a MINI. Finally pulled the trigger in late June on a Certified JCW Coupe with Recaro Seats.




Two hours after purchase at Pet Goods in Paramus; Courtesy of the shopping cart getter (they didn't pay for damage either).

 

Well that sucks. Good news is that it looks like it didn't chip/crack the paint so a paintless dent removal guy might be able to get that out. I would give them a shot first.

As for the unfortunate dent from a shopping cart , maddening isn't it? This would be the main reason I park at the absolute end of any parking lot, hopefully reducing the possibility of this happen. Think of it as a little more cardio.

Probably too late now but if their employees cause damage, then yes, they are liable.

Us too, but we always have somebody park right next to us way in the back of the lot?!?!

 

Parked away from the 4 or 5 cars left in a large parking lot. Dent had a sharp crease to it that they couldn't pop out. I had it repaired a little over a month ago at a cost of nearly $975.

I know the cart getter was rounding up the carts when I parked it, but where I parked there were no shopping carts nearby. When I left he was suspiciously standing by the entrance/exit of the store with few carts scattered in few spots in the parking lot. Didn't think anyone would screw that up, so I didn't do a walk around of the car when I got in. Parking lot had no camera, so of course they denied doing any damage.

I picked up the car only 2 hours before and there were no damage when I picked it up and when I first got home. Strangely damage was there when I got out of the car from the pet store.
