Back, 2012 Base

Hi,

I bought a 2012 Mini Cooper base hardtop today. It seems peppy enough for me, and the handling is a hoot! The mpg on the way home sealed the deal , it was better than the Fiat 500 Sport I traded in. This is my third Mini, and my first base...I felt it was time for something practical for me as a daily driver but still fun.

2012, 6 speed base
Velvet silver metallic
Cold weather
16" 6-star, black
Sunroof
Harmon kardon
Bluetooth usb

Looks pretty sweet, arncota. Then again, I have always had a soft spot for silver. Congrats and thanks for the pics. While you out there motoring and enjoying you MINI, please don't forget to promote the MINI wave.

Congrats! Looks great! And for the record, you did not buy a "base" car. The only "base" MINIs are any model with no options. You bought a non-S.

Sweet! Very good looking MINI.
Welcome to the 'I love my Non-S' Club!

You'll find that you can be a little more demanding when moving forward from a stop, with very little effect on your gas mileage, but your MINI will begin to be a bit quicker in response. The Non-S is fond of having a little bit more rpms and they perk right up when you ask them to go!

And, aside from better gas mileage, you will (statistically) less maintenance, fewer parts that give out on you, and less problems with oil levels, timing chains, high pressure fuel pumps and all that turbo stuff... you won't get the dreaded carbon buildup either.

Enjoy that pretty little MINI.

No apologies necessary, arncota. The plain cooper is referred to by enthusiasts as a "Justa." Nothing derogatory, it's Justa Cooper.
