My understanding is that until 2010, the grilles were the same. I had a JCW grille on my 2010 Cooper, and it fir perfectly. I think in 2011 there was a slight change that prevented the grilles from being interchangeable. You should definitely be able to add an S bonnet as well.

Just for educational purposes, there is no such thing as a "base" MINI, unless it is one with zero options. They are either S or non-S (or One in other countries).

Thanks for the clarification, I guess it's semantics, but I appreciate it and will probably change the names in my "garage" in my profile.

That's really great news, I've held off ordering a grille because I just haven't been completely sure about it. I may order one today. Anyone else able to support this claim?

Also, would you happen to know what years the trim (around grille) is compatible with the 2009 grille? I found some trim for a really good price but it is from a 2007. Would that work for a 2009 or is it different?

Read descriptions carefully. for a hardtop '07-'10 should be the same, '11+ is the LCI or refresh of the R56. The convertible however is a 1st gen body style through 2008 (lasted 2 years longer). So be careful of some parts interchanging between hardtops and convertibles.

Thanks so much for your help. I ordered a 2012 cooper s hatchback hood last week and a grille/trim yesterday so I will update when I find out the verdict!
