5 days and counting

Been the owner on a MINI NEXT™ 2009 Mini Cooper S R56 for 5 days. Came from a Mercedes C55 AMG, wanted a car with lower running cost's. Now I'm adjusting to a car with less than half the power, half as many cylinders but 1000lbs lighter. Also getting double the gas mileage all for le$$!

I'm originally from the UK, born in a town called Abingdon. Lived in a village just south of Abingdon called Sutton Courtenay for 25 years. Found my way to Chicago in 1998.

My first car was a used 1965 Austin Mini Cooper 998cc, nice to be back in the groove.

Welcome to NAM, Nutter and congrats on your new MINI. I'm sure this vehicle will not disappoint. You've already pointed out a few of your MINI's advantages over your previous ride. Thanks for posting pics right up front and it looks great. Happy motoring and please do your diligence to promote the MINI wave.

Are you still in Chicago, or have you made your way back to the UK?

I'm in the NW Suburbs, Lake in the Hills, IL. Its about 50miles NW of downtown Chicago and about 45 miles North of Plainfield. I waved to my first MINI just yesterday but they didn't notice :(

Plan to Claybar and Wax the car this weekend, it was clean when I picked it up last week but not exactly what I'd call detailed.

I know exactly where Lake In The Hills is, nice area. So sorry you didn't get a positive response from your wave. Maybe next time, just don't give up. Keep waving.
