Hello from Seminole, FL!!!!!

Just got my first mini 2 weeks ago (2008 R56 S). I just go finished adding the K&N typhoon 69-2004TTK and plasti dipping most of the chrome accents on the car (logos's, light bezels, fuel lid, door handles, & side badges).

I'm looking at upgrading the stereo to a newer OEM version with Bluetooth audio streaming and display the information of the songs and stations. Can anyone point me in the right direction? can I just get a newer version of the stock radio? If so where? I don't have the upgraded HK stereo currently.

Welcome to NAM! For your question, you might check Navigation & Audio in the Second Gen section.

The Bay area has an active group of certifiable nut jobs, er "MINIacs" (of which I'm one ) who meet monthly for dinner & drinks, and other activities. Check out the BAM section of Sunshine MINIs here.

Come join us sometime & introduce yourself, and Happy Motoring!

bucoholic,

Congratulations on the MINI!

My wife and I are heading to Indian Shores for two weeks in October. We're looking at houses in the Seminole area (exploring neighborhoods) with the intent of purchasing by next Summer. I'll buy a MINI Roadster once we find a place - I'm an old USF grad anxious to get back to the Gulf Coast.

I hope you enjoy your new MINI!

Dave

That's awesome, we are off Park and 131st, not far from where you are going to be.

I'm familiar with your area. We're determined to live about a 5 minute MINI drive from the beach (west of 113th St. N) You're in a great location. In October, we'll be staying two weeks at Barefoot Beach Resort by the Salt Rock Grill.

I personally wouldn't go after the HK OEM stuff. I find it to be great when it works and horrible when it doesn't. I listen to alot of older punk rock and country music. No matter how well the CD is mastered the overall sound output is still low so you have to crank it up to enjoy it. Give it 20 minutes and the amp will cut out to cool itself down. My drivers side tweeter is already blown and it sounds like my passenger side one is about to go and my car has 6900 miles on it. HK= a good stereo is you enjoy listening to NPR and not anything over a whisper it seems.

Oh yea I'm the mini boss of Lake Worth by the way

Welcome from south west Florida. You can get the modules to add blue tooth and iPod integration , but I think you will need to take the mini to mini service to have them activate the features for use.
