Hi from Atlanta

Bought a 2006 Mini for my daughter and I think I'll now need to either buy one for myself or steal it from her. Love it!

Welcome. We love pictures. Yes they are a lot of fun and you will end up with one if you drive hers for very long. Good luck and remember to wave to your fellow MINIac.

Ah the last year of the R53's....watch out, you might become one of those R53 snobs that hang around here

A lot of folks feel that the Mini to own is one from that era...you will be in very good company here...

Welcome!

get your wallet ready, they're going to find $2000-3000 that you "need", but usually don't

We did that at another place (in Decatur, I'm sure you know who I'm speaking of). That's why we took it to Global Mini.

EML light and Limp mode - they're saying Throttle Body replacement at $459. I can stomach that. Can't stomach a $328 battery replacement though, so if that ends up being a problem I'll do that one myself.

Making note of R53. :-) I've seen the numbers floating around but not educated enough about Mini's to know the difference. Thanks!

I've got Batteries for $130

As for the EML you better get it in writting that it will fix your problem, as those are very rare to go bad and many other parts cause limp mode.

Also, if you haven't reached out to the local MINI clubs, I'd strongly consider it. Good group of enthusiasts in the Atlanta area.

Georgia MINIACS

Atlanta MINIs

are the two that come to mind. There is also Middle GA MINIs and a very active TN MINI club.
