Ok, but he's quoting you full MSRP for those parts. Who in their right mind would pay new prices for used parts? I paid $300 for my M7 STB too. Am i going to get that when i sell it? No.

Exactly what I said . I also just installed 1300 miles ago , alta pulley, alta intake, alta crank pulley, alta radiator hoses, aluminum antifreeze overflow, Demon ignition with wires, new plugs , M7 oil pan, new rims and tires ,New JL audio system with stealth box , full tune up then my SC blew so I only got to enjoy everything for about a month and a 1/2 . I told him I am not calculating it into the trade why should he

You should add the full MSRP of your mods to the estimated KBB or Edmunds to try to get a better value picture. Also, since the parts you installed are new, how old are the 'mods' he put on his car?

Louprez, this seems like a silly question, but you said in your first post that you wanted a 'street friendly reliable daily driver'. If that is the case, why are you also modding your car or considering a modded car for a trade? If you really want reliable, get yourself a very basic MINI and keep your modded car for fun and adventure. Then you can stretch the life of your R53, and have a good, reliable, gas friendly car for your daily driving. Just a thought. :-)

^^I'm with JoanieB on this. But also, i feel like we're all beating a dead horse. I feel you already know this trade isn't really worth it given your responses. We're all saying it's not worth it to go through the trade. Either that, or there's something you're not telling us that might make this deal sweeter than it really sounds?

It was stock this whole time and thought when doing a full tune up I would throw some aftermarket parts to give it a little go . I was getting bored with it and thought that the mods would have me fall back in love again . Then when the SC went I didn't even want to look at it

But it's all fixed now, right? Well, if you're just bored and ready for a change, and like the look and feel of the 07, then go for it... but do remember that things break on cars, and SCs are probably cheaper to fix than turbos....

And, the R53 is going to be a 'classic' MINI some day, hard to get and more desirable...

Honestly nothing . The color combo I like better but that's about it . I actually like the R56 look better but nothing else .

You don't seem to have anything to gain out of the trade then. The other guy is the one who should be sweetening the pot since he's the one that wants your car. You have the leverage (this includes simply saying 'no').

Yes everything seems to be good now . I purchased a used SC off a 06 that was rear ended with 33k on it . Gave me a 1 year warranty on it . Maybe I'll pick up a BBC and be done with it . With I could put in a double din stereo for nav .

Did they service the SC before they put it in? I would have cracked it open and changed the oil.
