Welcome to the forums, And no need to wait, if you order now they are already producing 2013's. Something about there production dates but you can find more on here about that. I have seen post where people ordered last month and already know there MINI will be a 2013.

Ahh that is good to know!

So do I need to lookout for anything when I go to customize and order mine and can I pick it up at the factory and drive it home?

The factory is in Oxford, England so you have to take delivery at your dealership here in the US.
There are 2 dealerships in Atlanta.
Go to miniusa.com and play around with builds on the configurator.
Have fun!

Woah really, I thought BMW had a plant in SC.

So what dealership in Atlanta provides the best service?

MINI is true import, but like LittleWing stated use configurator, have fun with your build. Or check out your local dealership and test drive. As far as service goes you should be able to search this site using keywords like dealer names and find out if others on here have complaints or good remarks about dealers.

I had a pipe dream of ordering a car, picking it up in Oxford and driving it in Europe for a few weeks, then shipping it home. AS IF!
Turns out you can't do that even if you can afford it.

Check out the forum for Middle Georgia MINIs:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...gia-minis-245/
It's good to hook up with your local MINI club.
They have a lot of knowledge and know how to have a good time.

If you order it you can have it exactly the way you want it..the bad thing is that it is an exercise in patience....but there are other s that also feel the pain...so we become stalkers and track our cars every step of the way....

Mine is on the ship now....but it will be sooo worth it...

So link your little garage thingy, lets see what you got. Oh and how long, I am guessing 2 months from the time of order?

I think the general rule for Mini seems to be 6-8 weeks. But there are a lot of factors that could affect that. Lots of information up I the stickied thread on "how to track your Mini".

For me, the build is the quickest phase. Within two weeks of placing my order, mine was completed. Took about 2-3 days to get to the port, and has been waiting there for the next ship, for about a week. Should be sailing out on Friday. Then 11 days at sea, then however long to get through the VDC and shipped here.

If the star align and the next mode of transportation is ready as you hit each phase, it could go pretty quick.

You won't know for sure till you begin the process. I will tell you this. Right now, you probably feel like you're excited, but it's not a big deal. But once you place that order, you're going to start wishing it were here already.

I plan on ordering my next one. I hope that I will have the patience. Hopefully so considering it took a year to find the one I am driving now. Bad part is closest MINI dealer to me is over 200 miles away.

The whole ordering process seems pretty cool.

I have another question I didn't see on that sticky thread. How do you prevent dealers from modifying the car before you take ownership? Now what I mean by that is, stuff like dealer addon's and such that you didnt want; oooh and the big one I hate ( lets put the huge *** Atlanta Mini sticker on the back bumper so we get free advertising even though we did nothing but sticker)

Anyone ever run into that?

The one time I ran into that I bought a used Sebring from a dealer and right before I pulled off the lot the came out to put their sticker on the car. I let them get it half way on then asked them to remove it. Salesman looked a little shocked but he removed it.

I didn't order mine, but bought her off the dealer's lot.
All they had put on the car was the license plate holder with the dealer's name on it.
They gave me a nice key chain for the fob with their name on it which I still have on my spare fob.
Just tell your MA that you don't want anything added to the car and they should honor that, or they will take it off at delivery if you tell them to.

Does GA have front plates?
Some dealer's in front plate states drill the front bumper, but you can request that they not do that.
There are hole-less plate holders that you can get to install a front plate.

Nope we just have one plate area, but like 50 types to pick from.

So I have been messing with the Garage builder, and it seems the UK Mini site is more up to date with the options and colors. Being it's all at one factory can I just build it at the UK site with the normal engine ( non diesel ) and turn that form into the dealer?
