I tried my VIN and it registered.

The other reason is that the ship needs to get complete before it leaves the port."

Now I know Slay has ordered a JCW for Brunswick and finished around 9/13 like me. But, I don't believe Molly or Babsmike ordered JCW right? So even if the extra inspection is true, I believe we are all waiting for the same ridiculous reason.
That does sound insane. I finished around 9/11 and mine should be on a truck on its way away from Brunswick.

So he told me my dealership's sales department (not my MA) said the port might be waiting for more cars to arrive at the port with the same destination, before loading them onto a ship. If you think that sounds insane, I strongly agree.

Nope, mine is a MINI Cooper S Convertible. So that can't be the reason....

hey all,

Apologies if this has been posted before, but via the goodness that is the interwebs, I found the following: http://www.jwardell.com/mini/2006/10...-ordered-mini/ which describes the shipping process in a little more detail.

If you are in the "En Route" stage of the tracking process you can enter your VIN into the "Cargo ID" field at the following site: https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage. The search will provide you with date it was loaded on the vessel and expected delivery date.

happy tracking!

That only works if your car is on a WW vessel. Since BMW uses more than one carrier (e.g., mine is on a K-Line ship), that won't always work.

I'm talking in tongues...this entire process has made me a bit crazy I guess.

Lets see if I can summarize: I didnt have to wait out the August shutdown because I ordered afterwards =

I ordered after the shutdown and I'm "STILL" sitting at the port waiting.

My MA just e-mailed me a couple of minutes ago and said my MINI just left on the California Highway; which is EXCELLENT news! If thats the case for mine, I'm sure some others have left and their MAs haven't relayed the information yet. By the way I just checked the K-Line schedule and just noticed the California Hwy doesn't run down the east coast. It goes straight to Brunswick, GA then up the coast: Charleston, Baltimore...

I haven't heard yet but am hoping I am on the California highway also. I also think it is wonderful that it is going to Brunswick first. Scheduled in on the 8th. However I doubt that the car can get to OKC and be ready for me by the 11th which is the day I would need to pick it up if I am to have it when we leave on the 13th. It is a 4 hour drive for me to go tomOKC to pick it up.

I answered this a few pages ago but the main reason is that I turned out to not really be a convertible guy. A quarter of my year it is too hot to put the top down and when it is nice enough I found that I just didn't bother. But the days that I did it sure felt good bombing around the countryside.

So I thought I would save the extra money and get the hard top this time.

I do recommend buying the wind deflector. It makes a huge difference with the top down. A travesty that MINI makes you buy it - BMW gives it to you as part of the price.

Take heart, mine was at port on the 22nd of September. Finally got an email today that I made the California Highway due in Brunswick on the 8th of October. Check with your MA today and you should be in good shape. Good Luck.

I've been at the port since the 24th bound for Brunswick. I'm hoping I hear that I'm on the California Highway too. That would be very nice to find out I'm less than two weeks from getting my car and not over a month. I've been waiting and driving a rental car since late July.

Just curious what kind of rate you got. I'm not sure I trust my current MINI to make it through to the end of the month and have been looking for a "cheap" rental but haven't found anything I can stomach.

So now that we know we're on the California Highway which is the K-line shipping, is there anyway to track it or will we have to wait until it gets to Brunswick? I am soooo excited, I'm doing the happy dance.

From what I received from my MA the boat didn't get underway until today which was a couple days behind schedule so est. arrival is the 12th. The 8th would be soo much better though.

Just got an email from my MA that my car is still in Southampton waiting for a ship. WW confirms she's on board the Fidelio. I think my MA is clueless.

Not sure that is accurate. According to vesselfinder.com, the California Highway was well on its way the 29th of September (last known position). Current position on other tracking websites are unavailable due to being to far out at sea.

My MA knows better than to tell me things I know are untrue. I already told him my car is on the Fidelio and he never responded, as I am sure his screen tells him otherwise. But I think WW's cargo tracking is a lot more accurate than MINI's.

Or at least lets bloody well hope so! Couldn't face the idea that it is still on the dock after all this time.
