Molly Brown,

I had originally asked if you'd called 866-ASK-MINI and spoken with a person but saw your second post. Darn holidays! I was in a similar boat and finally heard that my car was moved to "scheduled for production" last week. Still took a few days for the Owner's Lounge to catch up.

Best of luck and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Ted.

Thanks Ted, I do have some time. I am just not good at this waiting thing. Want to take my new baby on the road trip to Oregon we have planned. Our chilren and all our family is out there.

Molly,

I hear you. The waiting is driving me mad. Oh, no pun intended! I placed my order late July without knowing about the plant "holiday".

My wife and I were hoping to drive to the mountains for our anniversary. Not in the new MINI.

Happy Motoring.

Ted.

More likely the leading digits are related to the dealership or the region of the country. My number begins 6702 and it is an S Clubman (Green Park).

Mine starts with 6700, ordered Aug 7, mine was also a dealer allocation that they amended with my details.

Tomorrow is 5 weeks since my order, still waiting for a production date. Before the shutdown my dealer said they were taking 7-9 weeks to come, looking more like 10-12 for me :( Was thinking end of Sept, now I worry it won't even be October.

700 built per day, 7 days a week - except when on factory break. The production time is amazingly short - 7-8 days from start to finish. The long haul is waiting for a ship to pick up, transport, deliver to port, then be transported to dealership.

I got mine one week ago. Was getting quite whiney about the extended wait I had. Hobbes was worth the wait, I'm sure your minis will be worth it, too!

soon2b,

Congrats on getting your ride.

And thanks for the info about the factory. I'm not questioning facts, simply curious. Where did you get the info? I'd love to learn more about the MINI process.

Ted.

Pit Crew: I got some of my info from the Owner's Lounge, some from 1-866-275-6464 (1-866-ASK-MINI), and some from online articles I googled, and much from this article in the 1st Gear forum: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html

Check out this (very long) thread. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-timeline.html

It has everything you need, including the sites to track the car once it gets onto the transatlantic ship. I geeked out and put the whole list down in one place on my computer...if you want it, let me know. I'm almost embarrassed at how geeky it is. It took quite some time...

I ordered the day of the shutdown--July 27th. My first 4 are 6697. I have an estimated completion date of 09/06/2012 for my S Coupe according to the automated system. It first told me the 7th about a week ago then started saying the 6th.

I ordered from Oklahoma so it isn't regional however mine is a hyde park at 6701 that is sort of related to yours being a green park.

Good news is that I heard from my MA today, Molly should be complete by the 10th , add 17 or more days for transit and we may make it after all. Big difference in gas milage in a MINI rather than a F-150 King Ranch

Thanks er.

Very helpful. I ordered my MCS on 8/21 and have not gotten any info from the dealer yet.

My pleasure! Pardon that I've probably already said this 47 times, but here's the 48th--I ordered my S Coupe on 8/9, got a production number 8/10, MINI-USA phone number still says "scheduled for production with no production date" since 8/10. Can't register on the owners' lounge yet--it won't let me. So...watch this space, and expect to be approximately 2 weeks behind me (Assuming any logic at all goes into this process).

Mwahahahaha finally! The phone robot says I am in production, estimated completion Sept 11...still can't register on the owners' lounge, though. Not sure I care anymore--I mean, how exciting can it possibly be in that lounge, anyway?

Congrats!!
This is interesting, my JCW HT ordered on 8/23 went into production yesterday, and is also due to be completed Sept 11th! MINI OL still showed "On Order" of course.

1st Post Just put in production

So my 1st post in this grueling process! Placed an order for a 2013 Clubman S stick early July, got my production number 2 weeks later. "On Order" ever since until it finally went into production 8/29/12 with anticipated end on 9/7 vs 9/8/12 per "Ask Mini" today. I do not know the Production Week designation number...does that matter?

My MA is next to useless...I seem to read this a lot...any comments?

Anyway, the "How to track" info is interesting and I was wondering what other info I may learn from all of you...

Cheers! Doug

er,

Thanks for the link to help track my new car. Seems like quite a few of us will be tracking ships in the next week or so. Very exciting!

Happy to say that the phone robot says my car is in production due to be completed September 12th. Time to start looking at the cargo ship schedules; I had great fun last MINI tracking my ship across the seas.

Let me know what ship you get on, since my car will be delivered to the same port as yours, and mine is due out of production on Sept 11. Thanks!

Robot just changed my completion date from the 11th to the 12th. In other words: be ready for some wiggle room with the robot.

This is the Fidelio, it departs Southhampton on 9/25/12, with a 22 day ride to port in CA. I'll bet you it's our ship

I'm figuring on an Arizona delivery the week of 10/23/12 if all goes well. That would put it right at 8 weeks start to finish. Sounds about right.

Ugh, I suppose after a 4 week wait to go into production I can handle a 10 day wait to get on a boat. Would be a 12 week start to finish for me :(

Maybe there will be a K-Line boat coming our way sooner.

I'm from Southampton originally and my Dad is still there. When our cars are "probably" at the port, I'll have him take a picture of the lot so we can "see" our babies.
