Can't wait until my Countryman arrives on 12-12-12!!!

 

My MINI was scheduled for 12/12/12 but now it looks like it will be 12/3 to 12/5 if all goes well, I'm not complaining

I actually grew up in San Diego. My mother, sister, and best friends still live there. I visit at least twice a year on my vacation time. I love it!
Wish I could pick up Ellie there and drive her back to Denver myself

 

I know that feeling.
I think they delay shipping just so we'll buy more swag (just kidding), but I do buy I lot of unnecessary stuff for the baby.

Got an update from the MA today:

At Brunswick VPC: 11/24/12
Ship from VPC: 12/1/12
Dealer delivery: 12/2/12

so about a one week turnaround at the VPC right now, delivery on Sunday. I wonder if we can get it the same day. Would be nice to do the paperwork and have some drive time on the weekend instead of after work on Monday.

So close I can almost smell the leatherette!

Edit: MA emailed that they keep the car for a couple days at the dealership for additional prep, so maybe next Tuesday. Oh, and tried to get an up-sale of paint protection (see below). That wasn't the leatherette I was smelling...

It will be in Brunswick on the 29th.

Got my call yesterday afternoon and picked up Winston this morning! 13 weeks from conception to home delivery, partly due to Sandy but also due to VDC ordered and installed JCW tuning kit. So great to be back in a MINI! Here is a pic from my iPhone.

Looks great, JC Scooper! If I hadn't already owned a BRG Miata I'd probably have ordered that color too.

UPDATE: MA is confident mine will be built first week of December. Stay tuned...

 

4:45pm while in the gym, BMW calls! Pickup my MINI tomorrow morning 9am (wed). 2 months and a day! I have a bag with accessories so I can dress up my car and name it before I leave the dealership and head back to work. My new smartphone arrives the next day (samsung note 2) so this is the best week I'll remember for a loooong time!

Congrats JC! You are now officially graduated from this support group. Winston looks great. Dig those StarBullet wheels and BRG is a fav of mine...right after MB, of course We will p/u COKESTR on Saturday. Have fun motoring and stay safe on da road.

 

I also have a BRG Miatia 2001 SE. I don't think there has ever been a better looking color on a Miatia. I also had a BRG Triumph Spitfire back in my youth.

I wanted my Mini to be a different color though.

 

Happy dance! MA emailed this morning to say production began today and it should be done by Dec. 7. An....tici.....pation....too much! Where is that chocolate and alcohol?

 

So after finding out last weekish that my yet-to-be-named Coupe would not be in production until at least Dec 3rd, I resigned myself to the fact that I still had some time to go and should stop bugging my MA and 866 for a while.

Stuck waiting for a meeting to start yesterday, I figured what the hell, I'll kill some time with the 866 number. Turns out it's in production and, as of the time of the call, was on the transmission install phase.

Called my MA and he said it should be done by the end of the week! Now to begin to pine over what ship it might make it on.

 

That's some good news! Since my order went in 3 days after your yours maybe I will get a production date soon. Friday will be 3 weeks. According to the automated 800 number still no date for production.

 

In production and will be out Dec 5!

Also, got into Owners Lounger Today, too. Maybe getting into production has something to do with getting into Owners Lounge?

Interesting the Owners Lounge tracks MINI when Scheduled for Production and when shipping, but never shows the car in actual production.

So, folks, do you think I'll have a MINI by Christmas????

 

I really hope you do. Since you're in Minneapolis, your port is probably NY.
There are ships leaving on 12/6 and 12/9. First ship gets in at 12/13 and second one at 12/19.

If you make the first ship you'll probably have it by Christmas. If you make the second ship... it'll most likely be in NY VDC in Christmas.

My Mini's been waiting in Southampton since 11/22. I already missed two ships. Third ship coming up this Thursday. Every owner has a different experience as far as wait time but so give up hope. I hope you meet your baby by Christmas.

3 DAYS TO GO UNTIL I GET COKESTR! I can hardly stand the wait!

 

OMG, The MINI's cruise ship is off the coast of Long Island!!! Just a few hours till docking in New Jersey!!! I'm freaking out!!!

 

Yay!!!! That's fantastic!!! How will you sleep tonight?!

 

Got my mini yesterday! Too much fun driving! Just got done quick detailing it on workbreak

Now thinking of a cute robot name, gf and I will have a discussion tonight to decide!
