I just saw some sneak peek pics of COKESTR this morning. I'm drooling! The seats, man, the seats!

I'm thankful COKESTR made it to the dealer in one piece, no damage, and without mishap. Special thanks to the captain and crew of the Topeka for taking care of our MINIs for 21 days, and to the transport truck driver for navigating I-5 traffic from CA to WA before/during Thanksgiving. I will pray for traveling mercies for all of you.

Sorry, not gonna post pics until I pick it up. This week cannot fly by fast enough!

There are people here who ordered in October and are still waiting? Yikes! That doesn't bode well for me. What if mine is delayed until the Not Normal discount expires? Doesn't seem fair that a delay by the manufacturer would be permitted to void an offer from the same manufacturer when they are the ones responsible for the delay.

I ordered mine (2013 JCW Coupe) October 4th and it's supposed to be in Hawaii by December 4th; at least that's what the Owner's Lounge says, and my MA.

You s/b OK. Remember, 21 days of our wait was the ship's voyage from Southampton via Panama Canal to Port Hueneme, CA. You're on the east coast, so the voyage will be way shorter. My JCW actually came in 2+ weeks ahead of MA's estimate for delivery.

ok, so my MA called me this morning and said my car still hasn't jumped up to production status yet, that it would probably do so on december 7th. which means it's not likely i'd get it before the end of the year. :( however, they had a few come in after i ordered that also have the h/k added and she thought i might be interested in one of them. so, i went to take a look and left with the baker street. :D i'm ecstatic. they came down on the price some so i didn't end up paying too much more than i would have for my simple order. not to mention, i have it now instead of next year. very happy.

I ordered a Countryman on November 19. I'm told 6-8 weeks till it is ready for me here in San Francisco. Today it is "ready for production." I'm trying to maintain a semblance of control over my excitement/anxiety. Reading the owners manual at night helps.

I thought I'd be picking up my MINI on Thanksgiving, so I was going to document the pickup on camera. Of course BMW was closed (shucks!) and I got a call the next morning that my car was still on its way to Maui from Oahu, there was a few days delay with the boat. So my pickup is probably this coming Monday. I'm getting anxious!

I sold my current car to my coworker, so he took it on Friday. The weekend without a car. My girlfriend is home on Oahu for the holiday weekend. At least she'll be back in time to pick up my new MINI with me!

The video, around the 6:30 point, shows me going into BMW, but they blocked their entrances with cars. My girlfriend told me to stop by and maybe I could see my car - I was only a block away at the gym. No MINIs in sight! I guess they keep MINIs somewhere else, only BMWs were on the lot. By the way, the city was cast in what looks like a fog... it's called 'vog' here in the islands, it's from the active volcano over on the Big Island. Lots of people get watery eyes, congestion, sore throat, etc... it can be nasty some days!

Hope you enjoy, I took the long way home, passing through my old neighborhood near the river. The area is known as 'Happy Valley' on Maui, and I'll probably be the only MINI owner in the area :(

PS - Just FYI, I bought this little video camera, the Contour Roam, for about $120, with a $20 suction cup mount, so I could open the MINI's sunroof and stick the camera on the roof and shoot videos for friends and family. Hopefully I remember to use the camera when I pick up my car!

Stopped by my dealership yesterday to make sure everything is in order and found out my interest rate is lower than I thought saving me approx $50.00 a month!!! Good news indeed.

amancuso: Sweet! I originally was told I'd get a 2.3 or 2.4 percent financing through BMW, but when I signed the papers last week Monday, my MA gave me 0.9% which I think only went for the 2012 models. I was so happy, it makes waiting for the car a little easier Congrats on your deal!

It's not getting any easier! I ordered mine on 11/9 and still waiting for a production date...probably early December so it should arrive mid-January I think...

So in the interim I am buying Mini stuff I don't need but I can't help myself...modding is a addiction I tell ya! Did the same thing on my last car! LOL

I'm in the EXACT same boat Jake! MA says mine should start production about Dec 3 or so, but looking at the shipping schedule to Georgia that puts it in the states at the end of December, then after the VDC on a truck to SA, I think I should see it mid Jan or so, although the MA is a bit more confident than I that it will be sooner than that.

Up until then I'm buying more and more crap that the new girl doesn't need but I want to buy anyway.

Just ordered my first Mini Convertible...can't wait

Today I ordered my Mini, meaning I had to order one. I cannot wait, and I found this "support group".. Just right for me. I wonder how fast they are delivering now, the ocean might be cold and stormy. I guess all good things take time, and all the longer I will be excited about the delivery.

This gives me time to think about which extended warranty / maintenance to take, and to get my insurance ready.

It has been 7 hours already, one day almost done.

How do y'all cope?? Chocolate? Alcohol? playing computer games?

Nicki

Arcrys, That's what we get for ordering JCWs I guess! Well hopefully we will see them around the same time! I ordered the black grill pieces and headlight and taillight surrounds...I'll have lots of time to kill to buy more stuff!

You'll get a lot of support here, but also use chocolate. And alcohol. And you can go to your dealership once in a while, for a 'MINI fix'. My first MA suggested stopping by to drive one, which helped. The MINI that we are waiting for now is for hubby, who doesn't want to go by the dealership and 'test drive' a coupe again just to tide him over...but he has me whip out my iPhone and show EVERYONE the photo from the 'build your own' garage. It's so much harder for a guy, who has to at least try to maintain some dignity. I just admitted that I was half nuts while waiting for mine, and everyone indulged me in my crazy, happy anxiety. Just admit it, and enjoy it, because it really is going to be worth the wait. Congrats!

I'm working with Robert Fairchild of Mini Oahu, my order was finalized on 9/27 around lunchtime (I made additions to my car to the last hour) and he said it takes almost exactly 2 months from the order being finalized, to when I actually drive the car off the BMW lot on Maui. Tomorrow is 11/26 and I'm supposed to get the car, but barring some kind of problem (crossing fingers) Tuesday the 27th would make my car *exactly* 2 months from order to drive-off. My car was supposed to be here by Thanksgiving last week, but there was a delay with the boat to Maui, something unforseen, but even with that, it hits the 2-month mark pretty darn close - by just 1 day in my case! I'd bet you get your car maybe Dec 3rd?

My problem is now, when I get the call while I'm at work tomorrow - do I immediately leave for the day to pick up my MINI - or do I casually go after work, and savor the anticipation for those few more hours? Decisions....

Maybe it's just me but there's no savoring the anticipation here. I think when I get the pickup date I'll take the day off and camp out at the dealership until they open.

EDIT: Woot! I've been put into preproduction status! Not sure how long that's going to last but it's some kind of movement! Anyone have any idea how long that step usually takes?

lawlz smiley face, yeah, I wouldn't be able to wait either. I would just tell my boss that I'm having a baby and run to the dealership.

Your MA should be able to tell you the exact production start date. My production finished in exactly 7 days. Mini owners lounge have been good with updating the status as well, which is a surprise to me since most people here said OL is worthless.

My Mini finished production and have been sitting in Southampton since 11/22... missed two ships already. Next ship is on 11/29 so... hopefully.

The owner's lounge says that the Rhoadster has made it to the VDC, which means it's probably been there a couple days. The MA reported that it "landed" on Saturday. I'm hoping we get a call early tomorrow to pick it up, otherwise we won't be available until Thursday.

The closer the car gets, the worse it gets...

Chocolate - an absolute must-have!
Alcohol - can't hurt either! (please don't drink and drive, tho)
Computer Games - eh...maybe
Compare Builds with other Owners in this support group - definitely
Lo-Jack Track the Ship Your MINI's on - contagiously fun...until the ship goes offline while in mid-Atlantic
Dream about Your MINI - 24/7 occurrence...day and night
Buy lotsa unnecessary MINI stuff while YOU wait - try to avoid overkill here
Try to get some work done - ya gotta pay for your MINI somehow
Get your holiday shopping done - don't **** off your family and friends by forgetting to get them a present...we already know what yours is, right?
Hang out here - don't **** off your family and friends by talking MINI 24/7 non-stop...they love you, they're happy for you, and eventually they might want to strangle you if you go overboard
Be nice to the spouse/significant other - total no-brainer here...they're probably helping in the finance department
Read the MINI Field Guide - and get all your co-pilots to take the pledge
Read other threads in this forum - how to track your MINI on a ship; MINI abbreviations; how to post pics on this site...to name a few threads.
To-Do's: arrange financing, check details and options, bug the crap outta your MA daily , make sure you have little/no surprises waiting for you at dealership when you go to pick up your new MINI.

How's that? Got enough stuff to keep you occupied now? Hope the wait goes smooth, fast, and fun

Anyone else on the Asian King?

Fortysix and two is waiting for Ellie, and I am waiting for Jasper, on the Asian King due into Port Hueneme on Dec 8th. We are both getting Coupes, Ellie is an S and Jasper is a Justa.

Anyone else on the Asian King?

Will we be the only ones watching for the ship to come through the Panama Canal on 11/29?

Maybe we'll throw a party, eh, Fortysix and two?
Do you like beer and pretzels?
Wine and cheese?
Iced tea and peach cobbler a la mode?
Or Mai Tais and flaming pineapple slices?

Here's Virtual Jasper:

You can bring the motor oil for Ellie and Jasper. They will be thirsty after their long voyage!

Wish we lived closer, we could actually do that!

Have you been tracking the ship? I used sailwx.info today and saw that it had just left Baltimore harbor yesterday. Which one do you like to use, or are you trying to track at all?
