Geez, I so hope your math is accurate COKESTR's gotta get on a truck and head to Tacoma, Washington after the VDC, so it could make it to dealership by next Wednesday. But the dealership's going to need at least 1 day for prep, so I'm bettin' the day after Thanksgiving, which is OK by me, cuz I got that day off anyway. If the service dudes take day after Thanksgiving off, then it'll be the week after, which is still OK, as long as COKESTR's taken care of properly.

btw, for those of you curious about the name COKESTR, my last name is COKE, which is really a fun last name to have. Hence, COKESTR! Yes, I'm getting personalized license plates with COKESTR.

Urg, SoCal VDC is taking forever right now. My ship docked 11/6 but I'm still waiting for my car to reach the dealer. Anyone else experiencing a week or more wait time after docking?

My MA said it could take 3-10 days to get the car. Bluelightning and Aloisius (S.F.) cars were on the Figaro arriving on 10/31. They got their cars within 4 days. Think Kimberlyfour in S.C. got her's in a few days....

I almost did -- I had one that docked 10/31 and arrived at the dealer 11/3, but chose to walk away because of the MA. New dealer found me a MINI closer to my original specs and at a much better deal, docking 11/6.

All good things, just this time around the wait for the VDC to do its thing is much longer.

My car docked on 11/7 and I am still waiting. Apparently, they are installing a JCW tuning kit there rather than at the dealers so that might be adding to my wait.

This is the week of November 12. Can anyone tell me what Production Week this is?

Glad this is a support group. I'm not feeling the love right now from the assembly line. Going on two weeks since the order went in and no production date yet. Ask-Mini is getting tired of hearing from me (I cold hear it in the voice of the person I spoke to today). Patience is a hard virtue for me to find right now. I just want a valid VIN and a schedule. Right now I'm thinking about sliding all over the place in my BMW because every day that this is not on a schedule is a day that may be filled with snow in a few weeks. Drinks this weekend in Boston anyone?

If I was in Boston, I'd buy you a round...or 3...and commiserate right along side you. Advice: Go bug the crap outta your MA for a valid VIN #. Nobody on this thread has patience, least of all me (lol). That's why it's a support group. So repeat after me: goooos-faa-braaa. Good, feel better?

Topeka

Looks like the Topeka is about 12 hours out. Places the ship in port around 4 a.m. tomorrow.

The Rhoadster made it on a ship according to AskMINI, but nobody knows anything beyond that. The person at AskMini said they (AskMini) lose track once it makes it to the dock.

I checked with WW online, and they don't have cargo with our VIN, so it's probably the other carrier which doesn't give ANY info. I guess we'll hear something once it hits the VDC in 15-17 days.

Good news is the last email from the MA sounds like we will get the 0.9% interest at least, unless it goes down in Dec.

I ordered my JCW hardtop on 11/2 and I was told today (11/14) that my Mini is in production.
my MA told me it is estimated to finish production on 11/23. Good thing they don't celebrate thanksgiving in UK...

Is anyone around the same time frame?

Is it me that's impatient or is this natural for soon-to-be Mini owners?

WOOHOO! My dealer called! Took eight days from the VDC to the dealer, but it's finally in. Will hopefully have some graduation photos to share by this time tomorrow, if all goes well.

Am so excited to have my car, and I'm sure my loved ones are as well, since my waiting-for-my-precious-mini torture is driving everyone insane. But, that's what this support group is for, right?

I am int he same time frame. That's interesting. I got an email from my MA saying the build was in 11/3. That's a Saturday so I figure it went in officially 11/5. Still "Scheduled for Production" with NO DATE. If nothing changes by Friday I'll freak out. LOL.

Kurtster, i'm HH from MF, i talked to you several times about GP and the JCW order...

its a shame we had to pull out of GP... back in July when i put my deposit in for the GP, i thought it would be here by december.

I love your color combo... I almost got the same color. But mine is a hardtop and i just got the classic JCW Midnight black/CR roof. I've never even test driven a JCW so i'm super excited...

Oh, cool! Why did you pull your GP order? I only did so because I need a car for winter and March was just crazy long to wait for something they've shown in full at a trade show already. They had told me December too (but you already knew that).

I'm looking forward to seeing yours too. The JCW I test drove at my dealer was a hardtop. It's so much fun and sounds amazing as you get the revs up. Let me know when you have an ETA for arrival!

I pulled out of GP because the difference between the JCW and the GP isn't much...
I think 2013 JCW will be very close to the GP.
And I'm already stretching my budget to get the JCW so... I thought I could save $6000 or so by getting the JCW instead of the GP.

That's cool. I agree with you. The stuff that makes the GP special isn't stuff I'd put to much use as a daily driver so that was part of it for me too. I had an MCS with NAV and I loved it. I'm a big fan of OEM navigation and all the stuff Mini Connected does so once I started configuring stuff I always wanted on my old Mini, I realized I just need to add an extra two years or so to the payments and get what I want so I splurged. Probably the most expensive car I'll ever own but oh, well. It's got every damn thing I could think of to meet my mid-life crisis requirements. LOL!

My Clubman was loaded on a boat yesterday. How long should that take to get to port? My dealer is in Kentucky.

At last! When the ship left, this day seemed so far away!

This information is current as of October 2012. It is my personal experience and is relevant for MINI purchases with a destination in eastern Canada or the northeast United States.

I tried to post it but the post was rejected: "Post rejected because of a score of: 87 Rejection set to: 30." What does that mean?

The information is also in this link:

Good Luck and "Pip" is the greatest!
