New to NAM! + a question

Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself! My name is Jay and I’m from the Cleveland area in Ohio. I have a pure silver 2009 cooper s. All mods are listed in my "signature" . I'm excited to join the community and look forward to hearing all your thoughts on questions i may have!

First NAM questions!
- next mod to the coop will be the Alta accessport tuner. Now i know there is 90 some page thread going right now and i spent most of my work day yesterday reading through it! My question is simple, is the tuner safe. The last thing i want is to hurt the little 1.6L motor. I know the boys over at Alta are no slouches and would not put out a product that isn’t safe. I'm wondering if anyone who’s purchased and run the accessport tuner have had any mechanical issues since then that could be related to higher boost pressure and higher horse and torque output.

Also curious about what mechanical boost gauges and boost ports people like!

Again I’m glad to join the club here at NAM an look forward to mind blowing knowledge to come!!

Congrats on the new car and welcome.
I don't have an access port so can't help you there.
I have heard Way from waymotorworks suggest an intercooler and down pipe over the access port.
I just received my Forge intercooler yesterday and waiting on a few other items from Way.
Actually just read it again and OP asked about CAI and tuner.
Ways response was, save your money and go for the intercooler and down pipe.

Pull up his web www.waymotorworks.com This guy is a world of info and won't steer you wrong. You'll see his name pop up on NAM all the time. He won't sell you something you don't need and if you tell him what you've got and where you want to go he'll help you out. You are not obligated to buy from him but I do whenever possible.
I'm having some stuff installed by dealer and he know the mechanic that works on my car. He called him and gave him tips on some of the install items. Can't beat that.

Nice pics.
How does the 1.2" drop do (any dragging bottom issues).
Waiting for my Megan Racing Coilovers and wondering how low to go off the bat. I was just thinking about an 1".

Thanks Drsimmons...the 1.2" is perfect. When pulling in and out of a steep driveway or apron there will be a little dragging but if you take it slow and enter or exit on an angle you are good to go!!!
