Under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge

As a note of introduction, Llanrhaeadr finds herself on board the Tonsberg today passing under the the Bay Bridge enroute to Baltimore!

She is MINI hardtop dressed in laser blue metallic with a white roof, wide white bonnet stripes, and Union Jack scuttles. Straight shift, checkered sport seats, xenon lamps, mud flaps, rubber mats, and a little interior chrome trim round-out the options.

I've learned quite a bit from this message board, and look forward to many years of MINI Motoring!

Anyone else on the Tonsberg today?

Llanrhaeadr_Cymru (L_C for short, if your fingers get tired)

Welcome to NAM. Your MINI sounds beautiful. Interesting name. If I might be so bold, could you tell us the background story?

Indeed. It sounds great. I'm pretty sure the name is Welsh but I'd like to know more about the story...and how it's pronounced.

Welcome, and congrats on the new MINI! Although I suspect your MINI may be passing *over* the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Llanrhaeadr "sounds" familiar...I'd love to hear how you chose that name.

Llanrhaeadr translated is the village (by the) waterfall and is located in the mountains of north Wales. The countryside reminds me of West Virginia with its twisty, mountain, two lane roads. Pronunciation? "Lan - while clearing your throat softly" then "ride" and "doer".

Thank you for the welcome...

and oh yeah, forgot about the tunnel bit... :-)

Welcome... oh and Cymru is Welsh for Wales. I haven't been in North Wales since oh, 1992 or thereabouts.
