So, has anyones Mini sounded like a tea kettle going off??? Pulled into the gargage last night and heard a high pitched whine. It only happens when he's idling rev the engine and it goes away. No warning light, lost of power nothing but the whine.

Off to the dealer tomorrow to see what's up. Sad Zippy isn't feeling good cause I LOVE MY MINI.

Could be the water pump issue. MINI recently issued a recall on it but I didn't think that the 2012's were affected. I would take it to the dealer ASAP.

 

Evasive - You were spot on about the water pump. Took Zippy into the dealer today and they had to replace the water pump. They said that it was working ok, but was making the high whistling noise. Happy it was a easy fix and we are back to motoring with huge smiles on our faces.
