MyFunkyMINI Joins NAM

Hello!
I got my first MINI last week. A very nice 2006 R53 S with 84k miles.

Nice silver roof, too. I've already made a few changes, most notably I removed the 2 columns on either side of the center console and the little shelf-thing under the hvac controls. All of that was rattling very badly and making it rather sonically uncomfortable going over even the smallest crack in the pavement. Wow! What a difference! No more noise. I've never been a fan of non-essential plastic things. I think it looks good, too.

The car goes pretty well for being at 7,000 ft above sea level, but I'd like to see what happens with a 15% pulley and possibly an upgraded OS. As is, she doesn't have much 'til about 3k rpm. Hopefully at 84k miles it's still safe to mod the engine for higher output.

I'm "down-sizing" from a Mercedes E320 4matic, so it's great I could tell my wife the Mini has heated seats.

This forum has some great members, great pics and great information. I'm glad I found you folks!

All the best from Santa Fe, NM USA

Nice R53. I like the fact that it's pretty unadorned and without bonnet stripes.
