At what point is it too late to make a change to a custom ordered MINI? My MA says you can't at all once submitted yet I've read about others doing it.
It depends. Sometimes you might get a dealer with a slot open and the car goes into production in a day or two. Other times it might be weeks till the car goes into production. My 2008 I ordered in red and changed my mind the next day. they changed it, but it was close. The car went into production the following week. My 2011 I got from a different dealer and they put up a fuss when I wanted to ad park distance control, but it did not go into production for another 3 weeks.
You should be able to change anything until the vehicle actually goes into production. That's what my MA told me, and that's what I've most frequently heard.
