So, yes, I'm an obsessive-soon-to-be-Mini-owner! And I'm okay with that. But really...does anyone have any idea what time the Elektra is scheduled to leave Halifax today? I've been stalking her on the marine tracking website and she's just sitting in Halifax! She needs to leave so that she can get my Ladybug to New York!

I'm on the elektra also, same color combo as you too! Just MCS and chili red.

Its scheduled to arrive in NYC, for the 9th, so I'm sure you just need to be patient. Were on the home stretch now.

 

She left the dock about 30 minutes ago! Next stop, New York!

My MINI has been "En Route" for the past 4-5 days, but I still haven't been able to find any tracking information.

Anyway, I'm sure the time will fly by and you'll be united with your MINI soon.

 

I ordered mine at Mini Of Peabody, Mass. So 2 of em are being brought to the same area it looks like.

Based on the tracking thread, I'm hoping to take delivery, mid-week next week.

I dont know how long it takes usually to ship from NYC to MA, maybe a day?

Then how long does the dealer usually hold it before it gets delivered?

I too ordered from Dallas and my MA said that my mini would be in the U.S. on Thursday and perhaps 1wk to get to Dallas. I can't find tracking info so I think our mini's are on the same boat. HAve you heard anything different?

 

I wish I saw this thread earlier.. I looked up the Halifax Port schedule and the Elektra was first on the list.. it docked around 10am and then I tried to find a webcam that had the auto port in frame but no luck there. It'll probably refresh for tomorrow but here was the listing..

I ordered July 9th so that's abt 60 days since.. minilauren and many others have waited much longer.. Thursday can't get here fast enough!

 

The VDC is right near the port so if our Mini's make it through quickly (1-3 days?) I'm hoping sometime next week too. It's abt a 5 hr ride from the VDC to Peabody so definitely a 1 day ride. I guesstimate a 1-2 day prep at the dealer as most of the prep is done at the VDC.

 

This sounds interesting, so you think maybe we'll all be picking up our cars around the same time? We might have a chance to meet in person, lol.

 

I got mine from Peabody, too! So, at least 3 of us will be traveling together! I really can't wait...I got an email from the finance manager of MoP the other day with all the info and stuff to get ready for delivery!

New York tomorrow, then let's hope they get out of the VDC quickly and up to Peabody!

Mine's through Mini of Peabody as well. I haven't been thrilled with the service there; I hope these final stages go smoothly. A new Mini Dealership just opened in Southern New Hampshire; I think I'll be going there for service since it's a bit closer. Can't wait till we all get our pick-up dates! It would be fun to meet. Do any of you know of any Mini events in our area? And did everybody get heated seats? lol

what dont you like about their service? I didnt buy heated seats. I'm a pretty warm blooded guy.

 

My Mini is coming to San Antonio (yeah Texas) and it has shown "En Route since 8/30 and I can't find it on the WW lines so I am assuming the K Line. Only ship there that fits the timeline is California Highway which hits Brunswick GA on 9/8. Which port does Dallas go to? My MA won't reveal the ship name to me so I am guessing.

 

I did NOT get heated seats. I have been very happy with MoP so far...

 

Yes, I definitely got heated seats! And I'm planning on going to Mini of Bedford in the future just because it's 20 minutes from my house in Southern NH rather than 1hr 30 that it takes to get to Peabody.

Every Wednesday evening there's a mini meetup in Lowell at Heritage Farms ice cream. I've been there, but other than that haven't been to any others!

How about you guys?

 

I'm out in western mass, so I probably wont be able to make any of the meets, maybe some day, I'll have to suck it up, I've been to that ice cream place before though, its pretty awesome!

I suffer through the winter, from November through April. Heated seats! Ooooh, it's gonna be great!

My primary complaint with Mini of Peabody is that my MA is VERY slow to respond to emails, and there is NO volunteered info. I also didn't find them very warm during my one visit to the dealership. I KNOW the cars sell themselves, but I felt the "take-it-or leave-it" attitude bordered on rude. The latest issue was that the "final" price quote from the Business Manager $2500 LESS than what I'm pretty sure is the REAL price, so I'm thinking they have no idea who I am or what car I'm getting... OK. I'm done.

My MA is originally from Mini of New Bedford, so that probably explains why I havent had any issues. My MA has responded within minutes usually.

So arrive on the 8th? 2days at VDC, and then another 1-2 days at dealer? Sound resonable? Midweek pickup would be nice .

 

I haven't had any communication with my MA at ALL. I've been working primarily with the Sales Manager, Kevin, who sent me an email one day and I've been going back and forth with him. He's sent me status updates almost every day and some days I've sent him status updates! While she's been on the ship there hasn't been much communication, mainly because I can track her progress online. Once she hits the VDC tomorrow though, you can be absolutely certain that I'll be back emailing him to find out her status and when she leaves. I'll keep everyone informed -we may be on the same transporter together!

Either way, keep me updated on your arrival and delivery times and dates...I'm so excited for all of us getting our new babies from Peabody!
