Hey everyone,

Just ordered my new 2012 Midnight Black on black on black MCS. I have always loved mini's, and once my sister had one a few years back, I was sold. I'm super excited to get my mini in a couple months and I think I have annoyed just about everyone within earshot of me by talking about it non stop. So I thought I'd come to a place where people love Mini's just as much as me! I hope to join in on a bunch of Mini events once it comes in!

Thank you! I will be posting pictures as soon as it comes in. I have not seen too many all black R56 MCS's, but I have seen a couple pictures online and I am very pleased with what I see!

Well...looks like I was bumped up in the production line and it has an estimated production completion date of 8/31! Went into production status 8/19, the day after I ordered it! It can't come soon enough...for my sanity and everyone around me

 

Hey BOAP! I just got my 2012 MB/MB less than 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it! Amazing color choice! (Is there a high-five smiley?)

Also, I see in your sig that you are a ManU fan. I'm a hardcore Arsenal supporter. I'd join you for some friendly trash-talking ahead of this coming weekend's match, but my team is hardly in any shape to be giving anyone any lip at the moment!

It looks great! I'm even more excited now! I was contemplating the JCW aero kit but alas, went for the sport package and called it a day. We'll see how the black rims I ordered with it look. I'm also thinking about putting the checkered door handles on.

and yes, my family is from Manchester, so I was born into it. Might be a small reason I love Mini's too! But yes, Arsenal aren't what they used to be, and I believe your Manager will be missing this weekends match too. Don't mean to toot our own horn, but United are looking good so far! At least you have your mini to drive around and put you in a good mood after!

 

Car finally moved out of "scheduled for production" and went into the body shop today! Hearing confirmation that the car is actually going through the steps definitely helps ease the wait. It was scheduled for production starting 8/19 until today! That was unbearable just seeing it sit there so close to being built for me

 

Now on to the paint shop today. It's getting there!

 

how are you getting that exact info? Do you have to call the 1-800 number? or am I just missing it on the online site?

The customer relations reps will be able to get the info for you as long as it's being updated on the site they use. I know sometimes the site doesn't get updated, so it could appear your car is sitting in the same stage for awhile while it's really moving along as normal. My MINI still states a production completion date of 8/31, but if it's already in the paint shop, I feel like it should be completed before then. It's conveniently happened to me that every time I call the number, it states that my car is in a stage behind what it really is.

When you call 1-866-ASK-MINI, after you enter your production number and they give you the status, it asks if you want to connect to a customer relations rep. They will have the info as long as the computers have been updated. I think they are open 8am-8pm EST

1-866-ASK-MINI is now telling me my MINI is on its way to Southampton! Hopefully can hop on a boat quickly and start sailing over here soon

 

And it boarded the Patriot today! Looks like I've been pretty lucky with my order. States that the Patriot will arrive in Baltimore September 12th

 

 

Well the Patriot arrived on schedule today. Tracked it on marinetraffic.com ...pretty cool site if you've never checked it out. Hopefully my MINI can make it through the VDC soon and get onto a carrier to start heading to Ohio. I saw another person on here whose MINI was on the Tugela (WW's ship that docked in Baltimore yesterday) and they stated that their MA called to tell them that their MINI is already on a truck and heading to Indy...So fingers are crossed! If I could get it by Saturday that would be amazing.

Haha, it is! I may have only ordered a month ago, but this has been essentially a 3 year wait!

 

As long as nothing goes wrong with the transportation company, and there are no unforeseen damages...I will be picking up the MINI this saturday!! So close!

 

Update? Did you get your R56 today? I'm guessing and you are still driving if you got her if you delivery worked out.

 

I did! Amazing car. all the little quirks people seem to complain about the most they have fixed in the 2012's. great clutch, one touch windows, sunroof has absolutely no rattles, the power is great, run flats do not have a bad ride at all. It's everything I could have asked for and more.

I have already removed the chrome around the grill with the black trim that I have had waiting for a couple weeks now. On the Midnight Black it looks fantastic IMO. Here are some before and after pictures.
