if you look at the info on the ship it says that it is supposed to dock at 0500 tomorrow morning. hopefully its fast through the VDC (or VPC depending on who you talk to) and ill have my car by the end of next week!

I noticed my OL listing was updated with a 3/23/12 delivery date (I noticed it this morning, just thought that I'd check) so I called my MA just now to discuss.
*YES*, my MINI was put aboard a "Precision Transport" truck on 3/20, and the two-day drive lets it arrive TODAY, 3/22, probably this afternoon.
It goes to the body shop first for make-ready, then it will get the checkerboard top applied...and, as it turns out, the JCW tuning kit also!
So perhaps delivery this Saturday, which would be swell. Mark the MA said they are fairly swamped with that recall work, but often they can/will work in new-delivery stuff (I'd imagine so) and he'd let me know later today. I may swing by asap just to lay eyes on it, finished or not.
It will be very good to hear my MINI is on site at their place, regardless, and of course I was pumped to hear that it's riding a truck on its way!
I'll get to write that "It's here!" post real-soon-now. With photos, of course!

This waiting business is a lot more agonizing than I thought it would be. I feel a bit obsessed. The other night my daughter woke up in the middle of the night from a bad dream and my advice to her in the midst of a half-sleep dream state... "just think of the MINI". This is going to be a long 6 - 8 weeks...

I can guarantee that it will be shorter than my Mini's trip to Portland. I'm conservatively estimating 10 days or so.
. Assuming of course that this is your first new or custom-built MINI, the Sticky thread in this very forum has all the info you need for tracking it. But basically once you get your Production Number from your MA, head over to the Owners Lounge at ol.miniusa.com and register. Once you're registered (you'll need that production number to do so) there's a tiny link in the website right underneath the front-page photo that reads "Track your MINI". Besides that link you can always call MINI or your MA.Oh, and I'm in here for a reason. Just like Richie I just ordered my 2nd MINI, a '12 MB/B Cooper Clubman. All I have on her are front and rear fogs, white turns, anthracite headliner and an HK stereo. Went from wild (MCS) to mild, but I am just as excited as I was 4 years ago to get into a new MINI.
I knew about a week into owning my 1st one that I'd probably never leave the brand, and here I am, again. Waiting

Since today is the 10 year anniversary of MINI being in America, I went to my dealer and order our second MINI in just under 3 months. This time it is the Countryman S All4 in Cosmic Blue with all the trimmings. Hopefully be here by the end of May. And the waiting starts......

Maxwell (in sig) is on the Talisman, also. I managed to watch it dock on the web over my lunch yesterday afternoon. I'm waiting for the OL status to change to At Distribution Center.
My dealer has set Thu, the 29th as the pickup date in Des Moines. That gives me a nice 90-minute drive home as the first drive.
