So my MINI has made the trip to the port, and is waiting to get on to a dinghy over to Baltimore. Not sure what boat, but I just hope it does not stay on the land for long. I need my cabrio before it's too cold put the top down.
@vicmini - If you ordered in DC area, it should probably be arriving into the Baltimore Port. If you have the order sheet from the dealer, that will list the port (mine did). Which dealer? I ordered from the new MINI of Montgomery County in Rockville (ordered 09/12/2011, now waiting in Southampton for a dinghy to baltimore (like Bubble and Squeak)).
@Bubble and Squeak - I am in the same boat as you, waiting for the boat to Baltimore (sorry, bad pun). I hope yours gets on a boat soon--I know your wait has been much longer than mine. I got really lucky with the dealer modifying an order at the last minute-it started production in less than a week.

Pretty sure Bubble and Squeak lives in West Virgina or something. She mentioned Baltimore because her MINI is being delivered to a Baltimore VDC (Vehicle Distribution Center) once it gets off the boat. That is where the port is.
Colleen picked up her car tonight. The owner's lounge still shows it as being at the Distribution Center!

Also
I am not a she, I am a he (last time I checked)Go to breakfast at the Blue Moon Cafe. Nothing is bad on the menu...
Seafood, I guess Obrycki's Crab House, it is good, but I am originally from Florida, so I find most Seafood places are just OKAY here.
If you like Italian food, hit up little Italy. There are about 20 great places to eat. I love Sabatino’s

@vicmini, The MINI of Montgomery County is a Passport company as well. I ordered on a Monday, and the car had started in production by that Thursday (when I called the MINI phone number). It may have started even sooner, do not know exact start. But I was really lucky it was so fast. My MA said they literally changed an existing order at about the last minute before they could not change it anymore. I would not expect most will start production that fast. The MA told me to expect about 5 weeks total, and so far it is on track for that (it looks to be another few days until it gets on a ship). He had said that 6 weeks was more normal, but there is substantial variability.

I think it looks "CUTE" in BRG!
Vic - I also ordered from Passort. Ordered on 8/22, finished production on 9/15, loaded on the ship on 9/17 and it will be in Baltimore on 9/29 with an anticipated pick up date of 3 or 4 October. The pick up date will depend upon how fast it's offloaded, clears the processing center and get's trucked down to the dealer. There are a couple of people from DC Metro MINI's with cars on that boat so maybe that'll get 'em to get a truck to Passport faster. All I know it, I'm starting to feel like a kid at Christmas! It'll be sad to see my current MINI go but the new kid is going to be even more fun!
@dwschmidt, @cmcveay, Just got a VIN number on my OL!!! i hope the car is finished soon so it can start its voyage!! i am also getting that feeling I have waited a long time until I finally decided to buy my MINI and now I can't stop thinking about it.

It is better when you are close to land. It is inside the Chesapeake Bay.

Picked up my Mini yesterday afternoon. Weather cleared up right on time.
Really happy with how my build turned out.
This may sound crazy but I have to get used to how "big" my Mini feels coming from driving a NC Miata for 4 years. I'm used to having that rear widow right over my shoulder.

FINALLY got word from my not-so-effective MA that "Anderson" (2012 Eclipse Gray Mini S Convertible) arrives aboard the "California Highway" to Brunswick, GA on 10/5! Very excited ... been a very very long wait.
Themis Leader has arrived!!! It just docked at Port Hueneme CA with 249 minis onboard including my little "Audrey" yay!!!
If anyone is in that area and can grab a picture of the Themis at the dock, wow that would be so cool!

I called my MA today to ask how long would it be at the VDC and if she had an ETA for delivery. she said the ship came into port today. After confirming once again the name of the ship "Chesapeake Highway" I told her it docked Tuesday AM and left port the same day. So since the VDC is in the immediate vicinity the car must be there …right? Then she said the info she had wasn't always up to date and that was all she had. :( So I guess with the info tracking available on this forum, I know more details than the MA. :(
Oh well, my Mini is getting closer!!
