I tried to check for you and it says "no voyage information available".

BUT it did say it left the radio contact out of the English Channel on the 18th. So it is apparently in the Atlantic and hasn't come close enough (@500mi) to the US shores yet. It's still on it's way.

 

Supposing it said "no info..." because it was ANOTHER extra cargo ship employed to catch up with delivery? (Same as the one mine is on now)

 

I sure hope so. Kinda strange I thought. My last Mini's were easily trackable back in 09. The were shipped via WW then as well and it was a breeze.

Things have changed that's for sure.

 

Might be at the dealer right now. can't get up there until wednesday at least. must not hitch-hike to detroit.

 

If you know the vessel name, you can go to the marinetraffic.com website and look up the ship by name. It will tell you the last AIS report from the ship (probably near the Isles of Scilly, if it's like mine was) and take you to a map with a track plot for the data it has.

It will come into view again when it gets within range of one of the AIS receiving stations. Mine showed up when it got within a hundred miles or so of Panama.

It's in the Miraflores locks right now! Woot!!

Awww Pat. It is still the same just this time you are in my shoes. I had a PH delivery then and the same thing happened to me. This time I got lucky. I did order from an East coast delivered dealer this time. I started playing connect the dots on the 17th. >>>>Turandot<<<<It's almost here!!!

 

one more day and the 9 week wait will finally be over.

my mini arrived at the dealer today. i get to pick it up tomorrow night.

 

@PezRadar my chili red mini coupe has been sitting in South Hampton since the 15th. I've also missed 2 WW ships. It's frustrating! Anyone know anything more? Seems like it should have been on one of these ships! I'm picking up in Nashville, TN so the port will be in Georgia. Another ship leaves tommorow but so far it's still showing as not being loaded onto any ships!

 

I contacted my dealership and they contacted MINI.

Apparently the last 'real ship' that held MINIs that had the potential for holding MINIs for me left on the 17th (I am in TX so my VDC is Brunswick, GA).

They claim that my car didn't get to port until the 20th. They said that all last week not one ship came to Southampton with the intention of picking up actually MINIs (which appears to be the case, you and many others are experiencing this).

So yea - Hopefully the MANON is for us as someone on NAM already has a Countryman on it - But who knows. We may end up being on something that comes later this week. They mentioned 'late this week' I would get picked up but I think they were just 'guestimating'

 

Got it, arrived at the dealer at 5:10ish and drove off at 6:00ish. They had everything prepared and I didn't have to wait whole lot. Next, I will take it to the tint shop this Saturday. I am so happy the wait is finally over. BTW, they had bunch of coupes in the lot if you are looking for one...

 

Most Dealers got 3-4 coupes this week to use as test drive models. They are encouraged to not sell them until late October but can start selling them on October 1st. (But then they have no test drive models)

I got my tint and sport stripes today as well, plus Lo Jack. Busy day but so worth it.

What brand and shade level did you go with? I am thinking of huper optik, either carbon ($265 - all windows including sunroof except front windshiled) or ceramic ($575 - same as above) 40% all around.

Hi all, I ordered a 2012 MCS hardtop on 9-19 and my owner lounge still says that it is on order. Does anyone now if I can get any more info at this point? ASK MINI said that it is schdueled for production but they don't know when and my MA said it is already in production… but i don't know if i believe him.

 

Not really. Your pretty much at the mercy of the system. Typically your MA WILL have the correct info. They have reports that others don't have. My MA said the same thing and he was right on the money. At this point all you can do is sit back, relax, drink a cool one and wait. It will move pretty quickly from here. Of course if your coming to the West Coast the wait is REALLY long.
