"Those Waiting for a 2012" Support Group
Ohh wow, that looks awesome. My first choice was white on black but we have two other cars:
1. 2010 F-150 - White with black lettering and now black tonneau cover
2. 2012 LR4 - White with black trimming.
So we decided to go with something other than white. I'm so jealous of you guys with the Aero kit. I can't get it.

I think HAWKLING was the party animal on our ship. That's why he's MIA. see, you already have an unruly child on your hands. All kidding aside, I can't wait to hear that you finally have HAWKLING home.
love the tinted window look ... it just brings it all together...nice
I hope. Looks like I need to reschedule my appointment for some stripes. Made it for the 10th and my MA is recommending I move out further.
Those of you westerners that recently received their babies, do you know the trucking company that was used to ship from Port Hueneme? Wondering if Wagoneer is chosen by the lot, the region, or the country or whatever. It'll be interesting to see if Card or the stalker from the Portland area suffers the same fate as I.
I think I'm going to Seattle mini today to see what's on the lot. If I find something there maybe I'll just get it from them. Here's my latest email to my MA:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. I would like to schedule tinting. What percents are on the back-sides and rear windows versus the driver and passenger window?
2. What is wrong with the trucking company you guys use? How can someone on the same ship as I get there's 1+ weeks before me and I'm still not sure if mine is on a truck or not? How can someone who's ship came in after me get there's 1+ weeks before me?
3. Have you guys called the VDC to make sure it's not forgotten or skipped on accident. I hate for us to wait another week and then we reach out to the VDC or BMW or someone just to find that a mistake has happened, a mistake that could have been avoided if we called earlier.
If this is normal to wait this long in this area while others are getting theirs a few+ days after getting off the boat, then something is seriously wrong with the process you guys are using or the shipping company. I frequent these forums and it would make it hard for me to recommend anyone wanting to order a mini from there. If they buy off the lot, I'd recommend you guys in a heart beat, Eddie was great to work with (haven't met Mark, or have I?) but if they order, I'd tell them to go to Portland (unless Portland also uses Wagoneer). I know by now you guys will be glad to get rid of me but the process being used right now can extend out much further than however long I have to wait with things like Forums and future customers. I really think there's a way to find out more than what the system says, like calling someone at the VDC or the trucking company. As a matter of fact, someone mentioned that they've called the trucking company before to find that the driver stopped of in Oregon to spend the 4th with their family. Are you (and Seattle mini) protecting these kind of drivers by telling your customers that "It's out of our control". Do they provide such a cheap service for you guys that you're willing to make your customers wait longer than what is necessary?
Sorry for the rant but it really feels like there's more than what I'm being told. Maybe it's more that is unknown to you guys but something that you guys should have access to find out.
Respectfully,
Delane

We usually do legal tint all the way around the car. But on special request we can do darker on the back windows if you want. Just let me know what you would like and ill schedule it to be done for you.
We have been sending inquiries to the port regarding your MINI, they finally replied back saying the car was damaged. They are currently painting a new mirror cap for your MINI. So this is what the delay has been. I don’t know why it took so long for them to finally update us on what was going on, but at least we know what is going on now.
Ill let you know as soon as they update the car on getting released from the port.

You seem to feel this is your dealer's fault, and their issue with how they receive cars, when really, it's Mini. It wouldn't matter who your dealership is this was an issue with the shipping of your vehicle, completely out of the control of your dealership. Sounds like they've been trying to find out what was wrong, but wasn't getting the info from the VDC.
You've waited this long. I know it sucks. But you're almost there. For me, I'd much rather wait another week or so to get the exact vehicle I wanted, rather than get antsy and just grab something off the lot because I don't feel like waiting any longer.
A month from now, the wait will be over either way. You'll either have the perfect car you wanted. Or you'll have the next best thing. I think you'd be better off getting the car that you custom designed for yourself.
I think you'll be much happier in the long run.
I think I agree! However, the VDC told the dealer they were waiting for a mirror cap to be painted? There is something wrong with that statement. The car has been at the VDC for over a week and that they're just now getting a cap 'painted?' these caps are factory painted and ready to go? I think this is a lame coverup. I'm worried about HAWKLING. I think if this was Winston, I would want that car and not another one. I was in love with my car from the moment I ordered it and I grew more and more attached to him as his production was completed and he was on Tombarra. Its a tough decision my friend that only you can make.
