JCW Aero package question

I'm ordering a 2012 MCS soon. Considering the JCW Aero pkg, but I'll be driving the car in WI winters and I'm wondering about ground clearance in the front. Don't want to break the ground effects in the snow!
Thanks!

I have a 2011 JCW aero and I believe the ground clearance is about 5.5 inches. It was the same as my Z4. I have a pretty steep cub on my driveway and I'm able to get up it just fine, albeit at an angle. For deeper snow you might want to charge your local municipality for your snowplowing services.

Hey ONEFISH...I just picked up my car yesterday. I noticed with the front lip on mine that instead of the two lower lip pieces being jointed in the middle I have a central piece cobbled in. Mine's a late 2011 build and I'm wondering if it might be the aero kit from the 2012? In all the pics I've seen I see the cutline directly in the center.

Hey ONFISH...here's a pic from delivery on 7/02/11. You can see the central piece of the lip spoiler I was referring to. Instead of meeting in the middle it has a 25 1/4 inch section cobbled into the middle. The outside edges meet up with the inside edges of the brake cooling ducts in the grill above.

That is different but I think it looks a bit more finished than the earlier versions. Is it 3 pieces?

Your car looks AWESOME! I'm hoping to get mine this Saturday. So did yours come with the black grill surround? I heard that they are coming with the chrome now. Some owners that have ordered them recently got chrome. I want the black

Thanks...I like it but I'm a bit partial. It did come with the chrome grill surround but I'd discussed it with my MA before the car came in and they were able to change it out when it came in...no issues at all.

Was you car supposed to be delivered with a chrome surround or did you ask for black as an option? Did they bill you for the grill surround change?

As ordered per the configurator it was supposed to come with the black surround but all seem to be coming in with chrome instead. There's a thread about this issue here on NAM somewhere which I read while waiting for my car. After discussing the concern with my MA she assured me they would make it right, just as it was ordered and represented on the configurator. My dealer had not had a JCW areo package so were unaware of the issue. They made the change at thier expense.

I see - that must one of many things the Canadian configurator does not show. What a surprise . I will talk to my MA about the availability in Canada.

Hey shavednshiny, I too have a 2011 with the aero kit and mine is also 3 pieces (see pic in my gallery, Grayson front view). I can't remember where I read (might have been on MiniMania site) where makes it possible to replace only the smaller left or right end piece instead of an entire half should you somehow damage while cornering.
