Convertible top stuck "almost" closed

My 05 convertible mini top got stuck on it's way back into place because it came down short in the closing process. Now it will not go forward or backward. I am not sure what to do about it to get the top closed and I am not sure if I should risk it again. Please help.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Where did it stop? Did the front latches catch?

There is a way to operate your top & the instructions are in the manual.

If it is latched, but the sunroof won't close, there is a mid-roof motor that you can crank. (crank is under the back seat)

If it isn't latched, there is an access in the boot that lets you manually control the rest of the roof.

I hope that helped...or at least gave you a good starting point.

Good luck!

Mine kept doing this until I replaced the faulty switch on the "trunk" cover thing. You may look into that to see if it got pulled up and let the switch off.
