No one can figure this out
No one can figure this out
Hi everyone. It's my first time posting. I have a 06 MCS with 60k miles on it. I have had a rubbing/grinding noise in my driver side front tire for months now and it's getting worse. From outside of the car it sounds like a dry rubbing sound on the tire but from inside the car it seems to have a more grindy sound. I have taken it to the shop to have the cv joint checked and they said it was fine. They cleaned up the crud around the wheel which made it better but only for a few days. It is now worse than ever! It's only when I turn to the right while in drive. It doesn't happen when I am turning left or when I am in reverse.
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm afraid this might be serious.
Thanks MC friends.

That's it...what kind of mechanic you bring it to? Classic symptoms for a common issue (in all cars I know of)
Tie rod is a possibility. You also should check the rear bushing and the ball joint on the front LCA . They are known to go bad at higher mileage and can let the control arm move around.
how is your treadwear? if you have cupping on your tire, it can make it sound like a bad wheel bearing, though that would not explain the grinding sounds. have you experience the sound under any braking?
