Hey everyone, just thought I would join this forum as it hopefully will prove to be a valuable resource for me. I just purchased an 07 mini cooper s w/about 31k miles on it. Green w/white roof and mirrors, looks awesome. Any advice on common maintenance issues? I'm pretty good with a wrench, I do 95% of all the maintenance on my truck unless it's something internal in the transmission or diffs. Also, what are some good places to start in the aftermarket sector, as far as reliable (preferably not too pricey) upgrades? Don't have a lot of money set aside for that yet, but when I do, I would like to know where to start. I was thinking about the BOV spring upgrade, some sort of intake, accessport tuner, probably not touching the exhaust, perhaps. Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum. Before I would Invest in performance mods, get the Timing chain and Tensioner checked out by your dealer. You still might be covered under warranty. Search this forum for Cold Start issues.

Thanks guys for the help. Do you drive with the sport button on constantly? And what impact (if it's not much and worth it) does it have on mpg? And is there a problem with the hood scoop warping? I noticed it's always extremely hot in that area, as the turbo sits practically unshielded directly below.

And also, I've only filled it up once but it said I had around 30 miles to go, and it took 13.5 gallons to fill up. I thought the max capacity was 13.2 on a mcs?

Leave the sport button on, doesn't hurt a thing unless you like going slower. Most of them you can get a little extra in the tank don't worry about it.
