New British Racing Green R50 Owner!

Hey Y'all!

In January I purchased an 02 R50 with 58k miles from a local Porsche dealership owner. I am up to 64k miles now, and loving it! It was bone stock with the exception of a later model mini boost head unit that plays MP3's. It is immaculate and runs like a top. Since I bought it, I have been averaging 37 mpg. I am so stoked about that!

Last night I changed all the brake rotors and pads for some stock replacement Brembo rotors and stock replacement Mintex red pads. Also did the brass bushing upgrade as well. I was sure glad I ordered the bushing kit when I pulled the brakes apart and the pad on the piston side had about 50% more pad than the opposite side (all the way around). Other than that, I plan to add a nice stereo soon (Alpine 7998R, 2 JL 300/4's, CDT 6.75" components in front, and JL 5.25" components in the rear).

I have learned a ton from this forum -- Thanks to everyone for posting such useful info. Special thanks to OctaneGuy and SCHR5530 for posting their information on brake pad and rotor servicing!

I look forward to being able to contribute to the forum ~~ Thanks for everything you all have contributed already!

-- Justin

Justin,

It warms my heart to know that another BRG R50 has been adopted into a loving home. Welcome to the obsession from MAD-Town, WI!

Is that BRG with a BRG top? That's an awesome and rare color combination. The only thing I would add is the chrome bumper inserts. I think they really dress up the pre-facelift first generation models, especially if you love chrome.

Val - It is indeed BRG with a BRG top. I have yet to see another exact match of it in town. Seems that most are two tone.

I am keeping my eyes peeled for a solid cream colored non-s for my wife. She wants to sell her Toyota Avalon and add another MINI to the stable!
