At long last! New Clubman owner

Hi! I was going to pull the trigger on a clubman just over 2 years ago but ended up getting a VW GTI. Last week I finally got a Clubman! Super happy with my purchase. Got a smoking deal on a 2010 dealer demo, loaded except hi-fi, comfort access, nav and leather.

0.9% financing, 5k off sticker, 2.5k in cash (they cut me a check), certified 6 years 125k miles, they included new 16" alloys and winter tires and a few oil changes and maintenance. Car had 2k miles on it.

Didn't even know the car would come with black wheels (car was mounted on winters...).Love em! Insurances is 300$ less per year than my VW.

Here is a crappy pic, will upload some more when it stops raining. The ride is much harsher then the VW, but its so much more fun! I've never had so many looks from people. I've had a few people ask me if my car was the new countryman...

One question, how can you tell the rain sensor is activated? Cheers!

Congrats! I'll be getting a similar color setup when my CM comes in later this month. It is interesting that people ask if it's a CM, since I wish Mini had made a color in between the Lt. Coffee and Chocolate for the CM. Those wheels look very similar to the 18" black alloys for the CM. I do love the Chocolate on the Coopers and Clubmans!

Rain sensors are not exactly precise, but they do work. Best way to test them is in light rain that will allow you to go a minute or so without a swipe. If you don't get a swipe before your view gets poor or after a minute or so in a decent amount of rain, then maybe have it checked out. I've had rain sensors in my three BMWs and they all worked with varying degrees of sensitivity, so I don't know if anyone can give you a definitive answer. Happy Motoring!

Rain sensor sensitivity is user-adjustable via the Set Info menu, see pp 48 & 49 of the UK Countryman manual, indexed as 'Wiper system'.

(I've not changed mine from the default yet as that seems fine so far.)

I wonder why demo cars tend to not have hifi, nor leather... Mine was a demo too, great way to get a deal :-) in my case oily 300 miles when I picked it up but 2k is nothing either!

My dealer actually had 4-5 demos. One was loaded but silver with the roofs rails...didn't really want that. Plus I figure I will keep this car longer so the fake leather will probably look better in 4 years...
