Maybe someone can help me? I ordered a MINI Cooper S convertible on Mar15th. I was told by my Salesperson that I should have a production number in a few days. Here it is Apr 2 and I still do not have a production number? SA is very apologetic, but she is unable to give me a reason or an ETA of the number so that I can begin to track my MINI. Is anyone else having this problem?

Only reason for not having the production number is that the car has not been ordered yet. the dealer might not have allocation yet.

I was told that Clubmans and I would assume convertibles take longer because the factory will wait for some minimum number of orders before they start production on the lower volume models.

I'm told that as well...but without any evidence of course. You can see my sig on the dat of my order to the date of completion, it took 22 days. It takes 8 days to build a Mini, from start to end. So that would imply they started building on the 16th. My MA E-mailed me my production order number 4 days after I ordered it. But I don't know if that's because he forgot to E-mail it to me earlier or he literally got it on the 4th day.
