They don't have a problem with mushrooming. Some people just want some additional piece of mind based on the history with the R53s.

So I was thinking about the M7 shift ****, but I called about it a few weeks back and have never heard from anyone. Guess I'll scratch it from my list then since I probably won't be hearing from them if I haven't by now. So anyone have a good source or recommendation for a nice CF shift ****?
I'm going to be at the MoTD next month so may find one there I would think.

Thats too bad, the M7 CF **** is great. I've had mine for a few months now, and love it. But I got mine from the marketplace here, not m7. Just get an m7 **** from Way. Your money will still eventually go to Peter, but you'll never see or hear from him about it, so no worries.

I'm trying to get over to Way's in the next week or so anyway so he can do the seatbelt chime delete on Mozart, I'll check when I'm there to see if he has one.

I still remember back a few years ago when I first purchased my part from M7, the M7 bar w/reinforcement plates, the lady was very nice and pleasant to deal with over the phone. I think back then, M7 was still fairly new, so the customer service was A+. However, i think over the years, when a shop has to deal with a lot of BS from customers, not mainly you, but in general, they start to develop this ego or impatience towards customers. I believe this is how it happened here. Excuse the grammar, I typed this during work. ;P

I personally like some of M7's stuff, but yeah... it's the people who sell it.

At least if you buy from Way, you are also supporting a legit shop. It's the greater good.

Here in LA, you can get parts from MINICorsa (they can get a lot of stuff not on their website within 1-2 days) and the customer service is equally non-existent, but not in a bad way... they just do their job and do it well and your car gets treated excellently... but if feeling entitled or heavy in the "consumer" mindset, yeah, MINICorsa won't suit you, either.

I guess we can see from this thread that there are better ways to get M7 products if we really want them than to go through M7. At the same time, there are better brands to get products from.

Strut Tower Reinforcement plates are VIP all the way. Nothing on the market compares to their plates.

I can't say swearing should ever come into play when dealing with a customer but if you only knew what internet retailers went through... You probably were the upteenth internet lowballer to call him that day and touched his last nerve. Now your circumstance is a little unique and I can't say you were being unreasonable but none of us heard the conversation and how it went.

I work for an internet retailer who offers items that people discuss on a certain forum. They lament the fact that there aren't enough retail outlets for this certain product yet go to ebay auctions to find it. They say that everyone should support the brick and mortar stores but their actions say different.

They discuss these products at length on the forums often with bad information and then call me and want to haggle because so-n-so has it on ebay for this much. Some people ask me a question and then proceed to talk over me and answer it themselves (so why ask?). Then they go back to the forum and proceed to make the company look bad when they don't get a warm fuzzy.

I could go on but you can see how nerves are tested.

Again, I don't think you were being unreasonable and swearing at a customer is never a good thing.

My advice: don't order off the menu.
